WWII Items

Mon Feb 16, 2004 9:53 am

Now, I know I'm not the only person on these forums who is attempting to collect WWII items. Though my collection is small, I figured I'd start sharing it with you guys. Here's my favorite piece:

It's a sterling silver (98%) dematisse (coffee) spoon manufactured by Krupp. It's in superb condition, and from what I hear, incredibly rare.

I'll post the rest once my digital camera gets back from the shop (stupid people leaving the lenscap off and getting the lens scratched). Post yours!

Edit: And no, I never have, and do not intend to dine with it.

Wife got me these medals for XMAS, but she won't tell me where or how she got them.

w00t, *finally* got the camera back. Here's some shots of the "German Mother's Cross", which was given out to women for having children in the reich. This particular one is gold, and was given to mothers of 8 or more children. I have the original box it was awarded in, as well as the original ribbon, and the medal itself is in excellent condition.

I'm actually selling this item, it doesn't fit my collection of militaria - this is a strictly civilian award. If anybody is interested in buying it, PM me before Wednesday the 24th, which is when I'm going to put it up on e-bay.

Is chzecholslovakia anywhere near Czechoslovakia? ;)

Got any pics?

Speaking of Czechoslovakia, here's the medal that was awarded for people who assisted in the annexation and "re-indoctrination" of the Czechs and the citizens of the Memeland in Lithuania:
