Weird 4.2 catalyst problem...
After playing a nice round of bf1942 for about an hour, i decide to quit and go to desktop...
It blinks and i get this weird message in 640x800 resolution that says "Windows has recovered from a fatal error and it is recommended to restart" or something to that effect...
This isn't the VPU recover either, it is something totally differerent.
I have:
2.4 ghz cpu, 512 ram, Radeon 9700 Non-Pro, Audigy 2, Stock 4.2 Catalyst drivers
Running the game in:
1200x1600x32 @ 75 hz...(resolution/refresh rate IS supported by monitor)
No aa/af
Thank you

1. Is VPU recover enabled? If yes, try disabling; If no, try enabling.
2. uninstall ALL ati software (drivers and control panel). Ati has a nice little uninstall util at http://www2.ati.com/drivers/cat-uninstaller.exe . Then run Driver Cleaner 2.6 to remove all the other stuff left behind (avail at http://www.driverheaven.net/cleaner/download/DC2Setup_27.zip ). Then reboot, and reinstall 4.2's again. see if that helps
3. Worst case, try dong above (#2), but install the 4.1's instead, see if problems continue or not.
I've been on the 4.2's for about 2 days now, no noticeable problems yet (although I THOUGHT I saw some flickering on Caen that would be somewhat like what Musashi was seeing....)

Thanks...I figured it out...
I was using radlinker and making it a top priority...
Also, i boosted the default clock/memory speed up a couple notches!
I think that did it
