For those who don't bother to look:
Haitian armed rebels run during a march into the city of Gonaives, Haiti, February 19, 2004, which was taken over by an armed gang opposed to President Jean-Bertrand Aristide. The United States said on Thursday it was open to Haitian President Jean-Bertrand Aristide stepping down, the first time it has publicly acknowledged his departure could be a way out of crisis. Around 50 people have been killed in the armed revolt in the poorest country in the Americas, where incomes average a dollar a day.

Why do I get the feeling Ralph is right? Quite possibly because he is?

I have a terrible feeling that the same people who were against doing anything about Iraq will be all for sending U.S. troops in to this mess.
the two situations don't relate at all. there is a big difference between offering assistance to a gov't under attack from militia in it's own country, and a foreign gov't sending in troops to invade. Two entirely different things

Good point. Sending in troops to overthrow a corrupt totalitarian regime is quite a different matter than sending in troops to protect and prop up a corrupt regime. I guess the important question is what does France think?
France...pfft...weaklings don't have any say in it...

Hmm my question is where is Liberia in this whole situation. What ever happen over there is the U.N. coordinating the government now?
Somewhere, Someplace there is something going on. I can't help but wonder when we'll need all 285 million Americans to patrol the world.
Ralph easy buddy. I wanna drink my beer not wear it
