Ah yes, Sid Meier's "Pirates!". I played the original on the Commodore 64, then on the PC, then the Gold edition.

Commodre 64 what an awesome gaming system that was, with the cassetes mind, none of thet floppy disk nonsense

I've actually got the original game, with box, map, and everything!
Sadly, it's one of those weird old DOS games that boots directly from the 5.25" disk. I think I'd need to build a legacy machine just to run it.
