Nationality has absolutely nothing to do with it
ALL lawyers are scum!
ALL lawyers are scum!

I wasn't making the call on the nationality, it's the fact that he's described as "a friend of Pol Pot"... real upstanding guy. And Klaus Barbie was a butcher! He butchered an entire French city, and this guy has the cahones to go and defend him! Jeebus crispy!

Old joke:
What do you call 1,000 lawyers at the bottom of the ocean?
A good start!
In my first experience with retaining a lawyer, I was shocked to see that he actually charged me to RECEIVE A FAX! That is some tough work there.

Saddam should receive an adequate legal defense. We need to be as fair as possible. America is despised enough already. That said, I was really hoping that he would have been killed. It is too bad they didn't toss a nade down that hole with him. Whatever the outcome of this "trial", I doubt it will help our cause any. It would have been much cleaner if he would have been killed.

Maybe he'll die under suspicious circumstances in his jail cell. As you say it would've been a whole lot cheaper to toss one 'nade down that spider hole than to fund this upcoming trial.

An engineer died and ended up in Hell. He was not pleased with the level of comfort in Hell, and began to redesign and build improvements. After a while, they had toilets that flush, air conditioning, and escalators. Everyone grew very fond of him.
One day God called to Satan to mock him, "So, how's it going down there in Hell?" Satan replied, "Hey, things are great. We've got air conditioning and flush toilets and escalators, and there's no telling what this engineer is going to come up with next."
God was surprised, "What? You've got an engineer? That's a mistake. He should never have gotten down there in the first place. Send him back up here." "No way," replied Satan. "I like having an engineer, and I'm keeping him."
God threatened, "Send him back up here now or I'll sue!" Satan laughed and answered, "Yeah, right. And just where are YOU going to get a lawyer?"

It's true, but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy a good joke.
"The National Institutes of Health announced today a switch from rats to lawyers in lab experiments. NIH cited three reasons for the switch: 1) researchers were becoming too attached to their rats; 2) humanitarian groups do not object to the unethical treatment of lawyers; and 3) there are some things a rat just won't do."
