I don't know that there is a proper orientation. Think of it as looking at the back of a real flag as it waves in the breeze. Perhaps there is a proper orientation when it's applied as a patch on a uniform. Anyone know?Originally posted by Camel toe joe

Yes, it is correct. Saw it on an episode of Mail Call. If I remember correctly, they explained that it was so no matter which direction the soldier was facing, the flag would always be going in the same direction, so that it "wouldn't look like we were running away".
I never said they DID support us, I just thought they were neutral on the subject.
