Really? I just installed the 4.4 the other day. Once I get my memory back from newegg I will need a full report to decide if I need 4.5 or not.

Well...

I had a little problem with these. Seems after install, my BFV game wouldn't start, had some problems. I had to clean up all the ATI stuff, which is alot for an All In Wonder card 9800 pro.

Everything's good now. :D I've never done a complete cleanup since I've had my card. Must of had some ^&%$^ left over from previous versions.

Has someone been touting the brilliance of the Omega version of ATI's drivers while I was gone?

If not, give it a week, and Omega will release his tweaked drivers. Leaner, a bit faster, overall a better driver.

Keep an eye on his website.

I'm about as Anti-Omega as you can get, since EVERY time I've run his drivers I've had major issues, including the death of any o/c'd card (mind, you it had been fine for a LONG time prior to, and it did the SAME exact thing to a brand new non-o/c'd card). Omega = crap IMO. (note, IMO)

That being said, I'll be trying these out tomorrow, will report back later. While the changelog doesn't specifcally list BFV (actually, it's still listed in the problems section), these are the drivers that supposedly had no more texture corruption in BFV.

PS. Jeffro, you lazy bastard, go read it for yourself :P

Fortunately, I haven't had the issues you have with Omega, Bullhead. They've worked pretty well for me, but my 9700 Pro is plain vanilla - no o/cing or anything. Oh well.

Thank you for saving me the time of having to type this. :P

What do you need to change the AA, FSAA settings? Do they make a difference in quality/performance in bf42? I have 9700 pro.

Thanks,
Fatty

Higher AA/AF settings make things look much better, but hit your performance hard. Now, with my rig, BF1942 doesn't even faze it, so I run everything maxed out at 1024x768x32, but with BFV I can't do that, so you have to experiment to see where your best perf/visual quality is at.

Gained a whopping 16 3DMarks with the new drivers, haven't played BF yet to see if it has any bugs.

I hadn't used Omega's for about a year because like you "EVERY" time I had problems with them, but no card deaths.

The latest ones seem fine though, and performance was better.

BF:V is wierd little game for performance. The game generally runs like greased lightning on my machine, but there are pockets on certain maps that bog down on my rig for no reason.

I don't recall which, but one map has this little temple on it tucked away in a corner, and my machine starts to stutter when I get near it. It's not like it's got crazy geometry either. On the other hand, a map like Hue which has loads of geometry everywhere runs great.

Go figure...
