New headset...
My fellow DKS members are complaining about my mike, I think it may be dying... Ive also been looking for an excuse to replace my very uncomfortable Sony headset...
im looking at these: http://www.mwave.com/mwave/skusearch.hmx?SCriteria=2150150
I think I can get them for 35, ive seen them on sale on a few sites.
My options: Get these or spend my 30 dollars in Best Buy gift certificates on a poorer quality set of headphones (like Plantronics Audio 90s) \
Anyone have these? Ive heard good things...

I'm don't use Teamspeak regularily, but I did buy a cheapo headset to try it out once. They only cost $5.00, and everyone said I was extremely clear when I tried it.
Don't buy an expensive pair, you won't be gaining anything over a cheap-ass headset(assuming your using quality speakers or headphones for your audio, and not the headsets audio).

I'm in the same boat as Tommy. Tommy, let me know if you have any success. I love my Logitech z-680s too much to use headset speakers.Originally posted by Tommy Boy
is it possible to get a boom mic with no headphones? I enjoy playing with my speakers, but need the boom to speak. I normally play with the headphones around my neck and the mic in front of me...but that sucks...

If your looking for a cheap headset but want to keep your quality headphones/speakers, no worries.
Just wear the headset around your neck and angle the mic towards your mouth. And since they have dual plugs, you can leave the audio portion unplugged so you won't hear anything coming from the headset around your neck.
Or hell, if your willing to do some surgery, seperate the mic portion of the headset away from the headphones, and then duct tape the mic to your quality headphones.
