Click it or Ticket !!

The MAN says 'Buckle UP, OR ELSE!!!'

:) Except in New Hampshire of course!!

Live free or die baby! We reserve the right to get killed in a accident.
It's sad the ever increasing amount of rules, regs, and intrusions into our lives cause me to be happy that I don't have to wear a seatbelt in New Hampshire. Maybe it's the only true freedom I will know, as my body gets ejected during a rollover accident.

Oh well, as they say: Any port in a storm will do.

Is it really that big of a deal to buckle up?

It takes two seconds, and can save your life in many situations.

just think of it as modern day natural selection... just like crossing rail road tracks when a 1 mile length freight train is about 10 feet away....

I always buckle up no matter what. Theres no excuse to not buckle up. I've always put it on ever since I could remember, so now its force of habbit that I put it on. If you do it enough you'll start to see it becomes a habit and you don't even think that your putting it on when you get into the car.

My aunt (works at a jail) has told me so many stories of how her friend, who is a police officer, has to go to a dead teens houses and tell their parents they are dead.

Here in Indiana we have a seatbelt law. However, trucks are exempt. Since SUVs are considered "trucks" they are exempt as long as they have a truck license plate (costs $10 more a year). SUVs are trucks when it comes to government regulations about minimum MPG and they can be trucks here in Indiana so the occupants are not required to use a seat belt even though 99.9% of SUV owners use them only as passenger vehicles that never leave the pavement.

Jim

P.S. I always use my seatbelt. I believe that their should be a seatbelt law nation-wide that applies only to children. Let people make stupid choices for themselves, but not for their children.

Well, if you choose not to ride with a seatbelt, you are hurting everyone else. Should you get in a crash and get seriously injured, guess who gets to pay your medical expenses. Who gets to live with the guilt that they were involved in an incident in which someone got maimed or killed?

by law...you have to. But for me its a choice. Sometimes I wear it (most cases), and sometimes i dont. I usually decide to wear my seatbelt depending on the situation. If im in traffic ...sure, if im going really fast.....sure. If im driving down the road...i dont think so.

I just began driving a year and a half ago and its pretty much automatic for me. I guess since i always wore it as a child, its deeply ingrained in me to wear it.

Whats the first thing I do when I get in the car? Start the car? No, I put on my seatbelt without any conscious thought at all. I tried not wearing it one time and it felt so wierd I had to put it back on lol...

Its an incredibly minor (even nonexistant) inconvienence that could to a lot to extend your life...

I don't mind if they eliminate the seatbelt law, but in the process, they need to make a law that if you weren't wearing your seatbelt, you're (and my) insurance company aren't required to pay.

We've had that law in the UK for years now. One cop folled me for 2 miles without signalling before issueing me with a ticket when I stopped for not wearing a seatbelt. Anally retentive? Well I think so.

I beleive that any adult should have the choice whether to buckle up or not I mean it should be your choice cuz it's your life.

I mean whats next. Let's stop making cars that go above 60 mph cuz legally 90% of roads legally require you to go slower. Or better yet lets install radio transmitters on all roads that automaticly prohibit speeds in excess of posted limits by triggering a mandotory component in all vehicles.

This whole "You can't do that cuz I say its bad for you" really pisses me off. You know the government is trying to ban all kinds of cheeses and stuff cuz its potentially dangerous for those that consume it.

Thats how it is for me also. Although I could have been driving since last year no one has taken me until around March. Every time I get in the car thats the first thing I do.
