logitech mx510 mouse help

How do I make it so that I can program the extra buttons to be used in games? The box says that it can be done through its software, which I installed. The problem is that the software doesnt really mention anything about games.

Ive tried just going into RTCW and assigning the new buttons, but they arent being recognized.

I have the 310. I was jammed up when I used the box software. Let Windows install the driver. Windows XP has native support for five button mice.

I used the Windows drivers and I am having no trouble any more.

Yeah the software actually makes it so you can't use the extra buttons for games.

no, i figured it out. You have to use the keystroke feature in the software. Ie bind a mouse button to one of your keyboard keys. At least that is what I needed to do to get it to work in rtcw.

I did that, and wolf didnt recognize it automatically. When I first hooked up the mouse I just let XP install it. I then tried wolf which would only recognize buttons 1-3.

edit : it worked out much better the software way, because I now can use buttons 1-8;)

lol, I don't trust mouse software. It's ussually just afancy faceplate with AOL AT&T installs built into it. (along with spyware and all sorts of bAaAaAaD stuff)
