I have been having problems with packet loss since 1/27/04. It makes it really hard to play at times. I get frequent freezes, lasting 1-5 seconds. It is not my ISP’s fault. My ISP has a deal with the university so I get my DSL for more than 50% off their regular price but I have to connect through the university. The packet loss problem is at the university. I have talked to tech support at the university and they admit there is a problem but have no idea what the cause is. Their current theory is too many people using the resources. I doubt it is over use as I ran some pings at 8:00 a.m. Sunday morning and it was bad, same as in the evening.
