Off topic, but don't go too far overboard - after all, we are watching...heh.

The rest of the world, hell, most of the countries in that area are with us, the only two that are really voicing their objection are France (which is to be expected) and Germany (and btw, the only thing Germany has learned in the past decades of war is how to lose.)

Tool should not get out of here fast, He has his opinions like everyone else, he should be concerned about going into a war as he is around the correct age of most military men, it directly affects him, but luckily we have an all volunteer military force so we will not be doing a draft or anything as we have enough men for the job now.

As for you not being sorry about us not being able to understand german, thats fine with me, I do not wish to speak it or understand it, as most countries also know how to speak english. (at least the important ones) :P

***Sorry, I confused Tool with EDogg.***

It wont happen any time soon, another thing that we have learned from Germany, is that appeasement does not work. period.

That's right - compare Bush to Hitler and compare the US to Nazi Germany. Idiot.

This is exactly what I meant about no sense of history.

EuroPEONS should be thanking the US everyday for its existence.

I think the problem with France is that they've already surrendered (again).

Indeed. Really sad how they think they're relevant.

Here's a neat little article. http://www.heraldtribune.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?Date=20030129&Category=APN&ArtNo=301291230&Ref=AR
Does this mean we have to consult Cuba, too?

Edogg, that will not happen any time soon, if it happens at all, North Korea is playing political games, they know we are busy with Iraq and they thought it was a good time to try to blackmail the world, it's all politics.

Doug you need to settle down. I am in no way a liberal. I am a very conservative person. It is actually scary how gung ho you are to get a war going. It just seems to me that the military has you brainwashed. I bet you think every time a country makes a threat against us that we should just shove it down their throats. Me personally....i like peace. wars dont get you peace...they get you death and destruction.
I love this country and im patriotic, but fuck that shit. I aint gonna die for this counntry if its going to be stupid and start world war III. If there ever is another world war there wont be a recovery period...if you know what i mean.

like i said before I have no problem with what we are about to do to saddam and iraq. I dont forsee any major problems arising from it. But North Korea presents a potential for a major catastrophy. I know thats a worst case scenario, but hell anything is possible in this world we live in these days.

I don't think that Doug is too bellicose, and I think that no one is rushing into a war. The situation in Iraq has been deteriorating for years. We have to remember that Hussein only remains in power today because he agreed to disarm.

Edogg's statement that war doesn't bring peace is clearly accurate in a sense. However, war could change a Iraq and the entire region for the better. Anyway, I'm sure that many of the people living under Hussein in Iraq don't feel currently at peace.

A more important point, however, might be that being prepared for war can bring peace. If we weren't building forces in the region, would Hussein have let the inspectrs in at all? Moreover, the people of Iraq can see that the U.S. would be there to help them if they decided to take matters into their own hands. Also, Iraq's generals may realize that lots would be greatly improved if Hussein were gone. Even Hussein himself may be weighing the relative merits of living in exile versus dying in an explosion.

Removing Hussein, whether through the use of force or merely its threat, will improve life for the people of Iraq and all of the Middle East. So long as the U.S. continues to push for hussein's removal, I have no doubt that in 50 years, Iraq will be a much freer and prosperous country than it is today. Free and prosperous enough to have the luxury, a la France and Germany, to bite the hand that brought and maintained those blessings to it in the first place. Somehow though I think that they will be more appreciative.

I agree with you Ralph.

Iran had good relations with the US before the take over of the right-wing extremist. Iraq was a real democratic country too.

Iraq turned socialist with the Ba'ath party(and then to despotism like most communist countries) and Iran turned to the right-wing hard liners with the arrival of Ayatollah from France. And the arrival of the zionist movement didn't help a lot.

Middle-east = big mess.

The shame of this country is, we used to have balls. All we are good for now is lighting candles and building memorials......I watched the Trade Center fall from my fuckin window, amazin how we forget that shit. Now we ahve to ask for permission to defend ourselves, I say fuck the rest of the world. stick a scud up Iraq's ass, and tell N.Korea to go fuck themselves. All they want is some cash, they aint gettin it!

Thu Jan 30, 2003 3:19 pm

Edogg, I wasn't directing any of my comments toward you. We may only have minor disagreement. What you have said has been at least reasonable.

I am not gung-ho to start a war. Training for war sucked. I certainly can't imagine how actually fighting a war could be better. I thank God every day that I never had to go to war. I don't want to die either if it's for something stupid. That was a big problem I had with Clinton. But I did take the Oath (as do all military when joining, whether they enter for experience or money or college). So I decided that even if I disagreed, it would be my mission to make sure my buddies got back safely. That's a challenge I haven't faced, and I'm glad for it. That's a scary test I don't want to have to take.

Not all wars bring peace. But some do...and sometimes it's unavoidable, as in WWII. That was a threat that could have been avoided, or at least lessened, but for the appeasers.

If I'm brainwashed it happened long before I joined the military. I paid attention in history class (real history classes, not all the spoon-fed PC garbage). It was my least favorite, but turned out to be my best subject.
After I joined the military I got brainwashed by Clinton and voted for him for his last term as Governor (when he said he wouldn't run for President) and then again for his first Presidential term. Fortunately I saw the light, and was able to see reality again.
I will always admit that I voted for him, if just to remind me of my mistakes - and how to avoid making the same. Even if I have to hang my head to do it....

I hope this is more settled...:D :D

sorry if i came off harsh towards you doug, but i thought you had addressed me and tool in some of your previous posts.
