Well, I looked over the website, read a few things, same old Michael Moore to me...liberal BS, take away the right to defend yourself with a gun and the crime will stop (yeah, right)...blah blah blah, the united states is evil and corrupt....blah blah blah, capitalism sucks....blah blah blah... it goes on and on, same old shit, different day.
Damn, I wish I could make them spend about a year in a country like Iraq, where they would not be able to bitch and complain, and if they did, they would be killed. But I'm sure when they came back they would find something to bitch about.
Isn't it a shame that many americans lost thier life (as well as other soldiers from other countries) just so they could give those bastards the right to protest. I think we have had it too easy for too long.

he's not saying take guns away, he's just saying make it harder to get bullets, the kids from columbine just walked into a K-Mart and bought all the bullets they wanted. They should just be more careful who they sell bullets too. Even IF he was trying to get guns taken away I would go for that, cause sure we kinda need them but no one ever uses them to protect themselves from the government or anything, as you can see by the stats they're being used to just kill people. Like that fag in that other thread who posted the link about the kid getting pissed off and shooting someone else for loosing in counterstrike, even if you don't like mikes oppinions you still have to agree that the issue needs attention.

So far I've been very impressed by the ideas brought up on this forum. I am biased towards Doug, Ralph, and Alistaire, but Edogg brought up some good points, and Tool is entitled to his opinions on guns which I think point towards common sense more than being liberal. I appreciate Dougs insight into the mental commitment it takes to serve in the military. Death is an aspect of military service that US men have risked many times in our countries past, and I wish that they didn't have to make that sacrifice. It's sad however, to hear Edogg say he's not willing to lay down his life for the US. Maybe he's not willing die for an acronym, or a certain administration. But personally I think the US is a fair country, where human dignity is respected, where no problem is insurmountable, where I grew up, and where my family lives.
My response to Pik will always be the same when he hopes for the US defeat and makes remarks about Columbine being something he laughed about. People like him who display such ignorance and disregard people in their statements say more about themselves than I care too.
Lastly, I want to say that Americans that are scared by threats from North Korea about declaring war on the US should be. But fear should not make us weak, and conciliatory towards the North Koreans. Presently North Korea is very close to failing as a state as the U.S.S.R. failed in the 1991. The North Korean Communists cannot provide for their population. Everyday hundreds of North Koreans try to escape from their own country, and that is why a barbed wire fence was erecter-to keep their people in .North Korea shows very little regard for life in general wheny they violate UN nuclear agreements and issue threats to the US. Conciliating a country like that with food aid from the US will only ensure the regimes survival.

I'm in agreement about bullets being sold to minors, as well as guns, if there is not a law for that, there should be.
As for the stats on guns being used to kill people, if the people were robbing someone or assaulting them, then I don't care about them being killed, they got what they deserved. If it were two people fighting over something and one killed another, it still is not the guns fault, that individual would have used a knife or some other object, even a car.
Maybe we just need more education on self control, or courses that teach gun safety (because if you know about guns, you know to check the chamber after unloading a gun.)
All that I know is that makeing individuls register, fingerprinting a rifle and many other things involved in purchasing a gun are useless because the criminals will still get them the old fashioned way, they will steal them or buy them on the black market. (btw, I'm for background checks also)
And as far as facts go, it depends on whos facts you read and how they are read.

Well said, Cid. Even the part about Tool having a right to his opinion, however uninformed and misguided I think it is. I'm certain there are other things we could agree on.
But Tool, something you should look up the histories of nations whose people gave up their arms. They always end up living with more fear, whether from skyrocketing violent crime rates or the government brutally oppressing them, or both. We think we have nothing to fear from our government, but history shows that governments abuse power (far more so) if the people can't defend themselves. Look at all the stupid shit that Washington does as it is....imagine the hell it could be if they knew the people couldn't take up arms against them. Without that right the others are meaningless.
We've already been on that path for a while, unfortunately. I don't want it to get any worse.

I have so many thoughts and opinions that they argue amongst themselves as to which one is more ridiculous.
Opinions are like assholes, we all have one. In this country we can generally express them without repercussions. Most times talking about those opinions is a good way to start a LONG arguement that really does nothing to sway anyone involved.
