Thank you, Boc.
Glad to see you guys are trying to bring the stats back. This is also what I was talking about. I figured they would not bring the stats down for good. It just didn't make any sense.

1. It has been a problem since day1 with the stats.
2. It's not a matter of support, its literally killing the box. If anyone knows anything about linux, we are getting loads of 15 on the stats machine which has nothing else running on it.
3. The stats run on a seperate machine. Resetting them will bring the load down only a little as people load the database while they browse the pages.
4. Nothing else using the box, no. It's not a matter of us putting something else in their place that makes more money, its a matter of not wanting to stress out our components out, especially the critical ones.

Thanks MMmmGood for the quick responce!
Could you clarify number 3 a little better? Is the data already in the MySQL database and gets pulled by the PHP scripts once someone wishes to look at thier stats from the MySQL database?
In other words is there a program that parses the RTCW log file and files to MySQL database and another that loads the client browser via the PHP scripts?

We do know that its an integral part to our public server and it brings in players and eyes to the website, so you are correct in saying that it makes no sense.
Dsteere-
The data is fed from the RTCW server to the stats server at the end of each round, parsed, and put into the database. It's not a huge amount of data really, with all the servers in the database, it gets around 2.5GB in size after a few months. Even when the database is near empty after we clear em, its still causing an unusually high load on the machine when it shouldnt be.

Hi MMmmGood
Thank you for the fast reply.
So is the high load caused by the data that is fed from the RTCW server to the stats server's MySQL database or from the users hitting the MySQL database to display there stat's in thier browsers?

No knife stats, SACRILEDGE! Wash your mouth out with soapy water. Why not get rid of the stats for something useless like panzers?
