Excuse me, what?!? Since when does the FCC have anything to do with protecting God's divinity? If it's the God I think we're talking about, last time I checked the bible, he was pretty capable of doing it himself.

Does this mean that language considered blasphemous is going to get fined by the FCC too?

Then what, political beliefs that they don't agree with?

I don't know about you, but this makes me VERY nervous.

I think they are right, it is unacceptable to hear the 'f' word on tv, especially when that word is 'Fox'. He he they'll buy anything.

This new legislation being pushed through congress is RIDICULOUS

It is so out of whack that radio stations will not even be able to play
the classic rock tune "Money" by "Pink Floyd" because the word shit
is in the song. These people must be stopped. Speak Up people.

Dont you think that it is odd that we fight and die in other countries
so that these people can have "Freedoms" and "Rights" and at the same
time we are slowly loosing them ??

Well the word sh!t is not enough to ban money. However, I do object to Howard Stern discussing anal sex over the public airwaves everyday for every kid with a radio to hear. I may be biased because I have kids, but I do believe we can do without the anal sex talk on the public airwaves.

Do I find him entertaining? Sure I listen now and again but it's pg13 at the least.

Yeah no kidding I dont want my kids hearing that crap. Not to mention any thing about god, I'll teach them that myself. If people want to express themselves let them do it in private and not on the radio and TV.

On that note.. you should be enraged at Oprah also, she was talking about "tossing salads" (oral to anal sex) and other sex acts the other day and this was at 4pm when kids are home from school. The conversation wasn't anywhere near medical or educational. So why don't the FCC fine her salad tossing ass? Of course not because they are hypocrites.

You can't be that naive Fat B., I'm sure your kids are learning and hearing a lot of worse things at school from other kids. The only way to protect them from that is to keep them home from school and not let them have any friends. I'm sure you don't want to do that.

My point is that kids will learn and hear "inappropriate" things no matter how well you try and keep it away from them. The only way to counter it I believe is just to educate and explain to them that these words are not to be used.

Oh they should. There is no need for anything of that nature to be broadcast over the public airwaves in the middle of the afternoon in my opinion. Soap operas and daytime talk shows are some of the worst offenders.

Do you want your goventment "Deeming" what is indecent
and in turn regulating what people can say, what artists can do
and what media outlets can broadcast

Are you people blind?

Jesus, we sent soldiers over to Iraq to give these people
the same freedoms that we as a people are letting our
so called "Government" take away from us. Some of those
folks DIED to let Iraquis have those freedoms that we
are now losing

This FCC thing is totally out of hand. A few non-elected
idiots can now say what you can see and hear based on
what they think is decent or indecent

Do you want a few people regulating this for the entire population???

Havoc I do see your point. And this is in no way shape or form a flame just a discussion.

As a parent you should know that there is nothing you can do but educate your kids. IF you they don't get it on Howard Stern show they can get it elsewhere.

Also Howard is on during the morning so if you are driving your kids to school you have a CHOICE to simply turn the station off.

I am 25 and it enrages me that a show I enjoy and listen to and can distinguish between entertainment and reality is taken of the air because of acts completely unrelated. IE Janet Jackson. In a sense limiting my freedom.

Howard Stern and the rest of media is punished directly due to the acts of Janet Jackson. I wish they closed MTV and sued the crap out of her.

ALSO I want everyone to understand that with 1 TELEPHONE call Bush can change how the FCC runs things. How are people so blind to this I don't know? I think people are so into American Idiot and other completely meaningless shows that they lost touch with reality.

You know what is strange about this country????

Here we can show all the gruesome murders and shows
that are totally violent in prime time when kids can see them
but we cant show a womans breast

In most other countries it is the opposite. They do NOT show
gruesome shit but do show partial nudity. THAT is the way
it should be if anything

Look at all the shit that was stirred up about Janet Jacksons
breast being shown. That metal piece covered a good portion
of her boob and if she had one on the other boob and they
were connected with bikini strings that "Top" would have
been no skimpier than a lot of bikinis out there today

Yes kids will hear things and see things. Does this mean it's ok to air a broadcast of a woman masturbating? If you like woman who masturbate that's cool. I would just prefer you entertain yourself with that material without having it broadcast to the public.

But if your idea is to simply explain that to them let me invite you over so you can explain it to my daughter what she's doing. Hell you can bring your pron collection and we can have you give a demonstration at the middle school.

Because they're going to hear about it anyways right? Hell why don't we just hold classes and show the little kids how it's done and let them participate. Let's ask them to understand adult issues at the age of 8 because they're going to hear about it anyways right?

God forbid we should hurt some poor entertainers budget with a fine and his poor free speech by keeping anal sex from the kids.
