who said vid games were bad?!

Postby shockwave203 » Wed Apr 07, 2004 12:30 am

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=514&e=7&u=/ap/20040407/ap_on_he_me/video_game_surgery

I can throw this in people's faces when they tell me video games will do nothing good for me!

Researchers found that doctors who spent at least three hours a week playing video games made about 37 percent fewer mistakes in laparoscopic surgery and performed the task 27 percent faster than their counterparts who did not play video games.

It's hand-eye coordination.
Also, some games enourage kids to read better if they want to know what all those little letters mean :)

The only down fall I see to the games is like what I had a year ago from playing to much. I got tennis elbow. Go figure.

Perhaps this is related to some other repetitive motion that you're practicing in addition to video gaming. :P

Well...... it could be considered a video game. He is watching the monitor... er and playing with his joystick?

And while they may want to figure out what they mean they sure as hell aren't learning to spell.

Damn skippy. Sometimes when I'm really bored (or someone is acting particularly obnoxious), I'll criticize their spelling or grammar, both of which are typically abhorrent.

Some examples:

Arian Warrior (Supposed to be Aryan Warrior, I gave him hell about this "If you're going to call yourself Aryan Warrior, you should at least spell it correctly.")

Captian <something.. "Tim" I think it was>... it's captain, moron.

Grammer Hammer.. nuff said.

One of my pet peeves is "Your" and "You're". They're not interchangable! "Your" is the possessive form, "you're" is a contraction of "you" and "are", so saying "your stupid" makes absolutely no sense! You're trying to say that I possess an adjective!

Same goes for "where" and "we're", "there" and "they're", and all the other ones that escape me right now.

Sometimes, if I'm in a very sarcastic mood, I'll take what they say literally and reply as if it were a question, but 99% of the time nobody gets it... :(

I'm guessing these common online gaming trash talk quotes don't bother you then ;) :

"your retarted"
"you stupid morans"
"you're grammer sucks go back to kindergarden"
