Off topic, but don't go too far overboard - after all, we are watching...heh.

DOH!
What kills me is that these guys will most likely not face international jusice - I say we hand the bastards over to the Hague. Nobody deserves to be tortured and humiliated like that - especially common POWs. What we did was no better than what Saddam did. If we don't hand the US servicemen (and women apparently) over to the Hague, it's going to make us look even worse, yet another US double-standard. They are war criminals, plain and simple.

I'm with da Fat man (Fat Bastard, you smacker). Any people that rely on some other country to bail them out, then turn around and bitch about it can kiss my wrinkled star. But no remember; no tongue.

Vote for whomever you want. I just wish you didn't live in a state that was in play. Have you heard about this Nader guy?

Jeffro, the only problem with your post is, it's impossible to tell if you're being serious or sarcastic. So you end up getting flak from both sides.

What I thought was incredibly stupid in the whole mess with our soldiers mistreating the prisoners is that the stupid Sergeant at the end of the story tries to have us believe that he'd never heard of the Geneva Convention. Is anyone actually going to believe that?? EVERYONE in the U.S. Military knows what it is. If anyone doesn't, they don't belong. AND HE IS A SERGEANT. He's either the worst liar ever or the dumbest sergeant known to human history. Did you see the pictures? The soldiers were all mugging for the camera (more idiocy, taking pictures of criminal acts while you're committing them)! They all knew damn well what they were doing. It's disgusting.
The Oil-for-Food scandal seems like it should be common knowledge. Woaw, big surprise, the UN is full of corrupt socialists/marxists. They deserve the aforementioned mistreatment. And certain politicians, including John Kerry, want Iraq turned over to the UN? Are you kidding? The UN already cut and run at the first sign of danger! Besides, the UN has no real force of it's own. It won't even act on its own resolutions. What could they do?
It probably won't be long before nukes will be going off in America and the West. Sadly, that is what it will take for people around the world to finally, maybe, get the balls to take the problem of radical Islam seriously. But I'm sure there will be plenty who still, of course, would just want to appease, blaming America and/or Irael for the horrific actions of others.
We're heading toward a terrifying future. May God save us all.

The reality is it's a small world and getting smaller. So we end up online playing WWII video games with French Canadians that feel the world will heal with a hug; and we get radical religious freaks on the other side that will strap bombs to school busses. I've never quite understood peoples inability to be more toward the center, toward moderation, toward compromise. No offense but where's the love, where's the empathy and understanding?
Currently it's still humanities non evolved need for entertainment. We feed off the controversy and the strife we create and see every day. A perfect well organized world would bore us to death.
Think about it, we live on a rock. Quite a large one at that. The physics of the entire thing is amazing. Just the right air, just the right gravity and inertia, just the right distance from a controlled hydrogen bomb that warms the lake so I can catch bass with my son. All that is expanding in a universe that the Hubble exposes every day. Take a walk outside and look up, take a good look. It's awe inspiring.
Meanwhile we argue over such trivial things. We draw hard lines in the sand, close our eyes and force our opinions down one another's throats. I hope evolution is kind to us. I hope someday we can begin to realize we're all in it together.

I try to use smilies so I can show what type of emotion it is...or at least give you a hint on what type tone i am giving...
Sometimes I forget to use the smilies, and then my post is obviously misinterpreted...
I'll try to use smilies (:)

) more often.
EDIT: Another note...
Sometimes my wording is a little

so please take that into consideration also.
