Never before seen RTCW Technical problems!

Never seen this one before, at least... not in a manner I couldn't fix;
I start RTCW like normal, and it goes through its typical loadup process, then, the grey screen just before the menu pops up.......... and that's it, I have to restart my computer, it goes nowhere... any help guys?

Try different video driver.....I had that same problem when I first got the game.

that shit happens to me and jordlesus sometimes. normally we just let it fix itself, and somehow it does.

I had the same problem when I downloaded new video driver. I only uninstalled it and it was ok.

Problem:
Wolfenstein sits at a grey screen for 30+ seconds before starting
Fix:
/cl_autoupdate 0
