Heh, funny you should say that. These were done by a professional firm, the same folks that did History Channel, Advil, TNT TV, and A&E.

Any constructive feedback I can pass along?

At first glance, I was like NICE! Now after viewing them on and off all day, and hearing other peoples feedback, I'm not liking any of them, none of them stand out and say WOW!

The goal of the design is to portray something professional, with some sort of graphic that gives you a feeling of a security related type of company, etc. If that makes any sense.

The idea of a shield was one, but folks say that is too boring, etc. What other type of graphics do you think would fit in?

One way to see if one POPS out or looks better than others is to place them on seperate pages so they aren't near eachother. Also don't use a white background unless that is the color of the background they will be used on if it is for a web page, if not than my 2 cents means nothing :) .

I take it Defender Hosting is the new name for ECGN?

Maybe have some badass knight or something (rather than a shield)? Maybe a shield and sword?

No, Defender Hosting owns ECGN, and is the hosting arm of the company.

I told the designer to not use a sword in the design.

I like 3, but was thinking of doing a radiant (if that is the proper grahics term) of small objects, and put them in the shape of a shield?

Any other suggestions for changes, new ideas, mix/match? It isn't a pick one and go with it, they are going to do new ones, new ideas, mix/match any of the ones we like parts of, etc.

So post away!

I was afraid you were gonna say something like that. Seems sometimes they have inspiration, sometimes they don't.

Feeling of security, sturdiness, goes with a very square font IMO. Some of these fonts are too light and gracious.

Don't play the shield, sword, knight angle too heavily because you don't want to look like an insurance company.

3, 4, 5, 7

I would lean more towards "3" if it had more of a stronger, steel looking, chrome finish to the sheild. Make the sheild stronger, like it would bash your head in. Right now, it is kinda flimsy.
JMHO :)

Tom, the new font and background (brushed steel) are great. I don't like the shield though. It lacks a 3D look that would give it some presence. Is it really necessary to have a graphical object?

How about a steel plate with "Defender Hosting" punched through?
