Its takes a little from both Wiggum... its a RTS, everything is moving all the time. But its not like C&C where you point click attack and move to something else. I've only played a couple missions so far, but on both you are heavily outnumbered and you really have to set your guys up. You have to find hiding positions, go prone and set the guys on return fire. You can use what the game calls direct control, which increases their effectiveness, which is pretty much mandatory.
The game is pretty detailed, theres alot of different weapons, vehicles, grenades, ammunition... the tread on your tank can get damaged and you have to unload a crew member and take out the repair kit to get it moving again. You can search dead soldiers bodies for weapons. You can do the same with enemy tanks, or repair them and use them. The environment is pretty cool too, just about everything can be blown up or damaged.
I've been playing on normal and its extremely difficult... you really have to get a feel for all the controls and commands and use about all of them... theres also alot of different ways to do the same job.

Also, whatever happened to the X-Com franchise... that was one of my favorites. Was it not very successful? I played apocalypse and I think they made a mistake in making that real time on default.

I like it, its hard as hell though and this patch kinda messed it up a bit. If you like RTS that are really challenging, go pick it up. To be honest with ya though, Id wait to pick it up after another patch is released that gets everything working right. As it is right now, the MP is messed up and the game itself still needs some polishing.
