Bad router in the mix on #1

Mon Jul 05, 2004 10:49 am

The following are a few tracerts I've run. The issue exists at hop #10 on the digital highway to server #1. All others I trace including ECGN #2 are fine. Any thoughts?

I traced mine out and I seem to be hitting the problem at hop 14.

Mon Jul 05, 2004 11:30 am

Guys, if you ever have a routing issue we also need *YOUR* IP so we can trace back. The path to the server is not always the same as the path back, and what you see can be misleading (without seeing the path back).

So post your MTR output *with your source ip* so someone on this end can trace back.

charleas and Casus, I PMd you my info

Mon Jul 05, 2004 11:59 am

You are better off sending them to support@ if you don't want to post your IP here.

Buli and cracka, your problems are clearly in att/atdn. Can't help you there.

I don't think havoc has anything to bitch about :)

Havoc, they'll never tell you anything you need to hear..

Mon Jul 05, 2004 7:36 pm

Its true though, if the hop ALWAYS times out its simply blocking ICMP, which is not uncommon these days.

Mon Jul 05, 2004 7:58 pm

Well I just reloaded the comp with a ghosted image. We'll see if it helps any.
