NHL draft

Postby King » Sun Jun 27, 2004 9:09 pm

As i noticed there are a lot of hockey fans, i was wondering if anyone payed attention to the draft or at least followed their teams' picks.

Even with the lockout looming, i'm still hopeful (albeit stupidly) that the season will go one in one way or another ie: a short season.

My team, the Blues, had picked a goalie in the first round, one of two of the top goaltenders in the draft, then today traded an 05 draft pick for Patrick Lalime. Do the Ottawa fans really want Dominik Hasek as their goaltender?:freak:

Anywho, if you're a hockey fan, how do you think your team did in the draft?
"Whats the Situation?" "Two blokes and a fuckload of cutlery!"

yes, the Sens did very well considering our pick placement and even better, the Senators signed Dominic Hasek yesterday.

Well WSH obvisouly had the best draft day but im a Flyers fan and since we picked like 27th or something, i dont think we got anything special. But Hasek/Lalime/Washington are the stories in the NHL draft, and offseason so far.

That's a good move for Ottawa. Hasik is still one of the premier goalies in the league.
Yea, agree with Crypt, Philly didn't have much of a standout draft. Couple free agent signings.

yeah, I think that they have done a good job making the Sens a better team...now if we can only have hockey in the Fall instead of the work stoppage that everyone sees coming.

I really hope that there is an NHL season next year...and if there is, Ottawa will be rocking (I hope).

P.S. Good luck with Lalime in STL Slayer...he couldn't stop a beach ball when we needed him to against Toronto here, but he is a really nice guy! I wish him well....

He killed us two years ago. He seemed unstoppable, hes just too inconsisitent to be a goalie on a playoff team in my opinion.

yeah, but not as bad as Belfour killed us over the past number of years!

Lalime was great in the brawl against Philly this year! Kicked Esche's ass! LOL

WHAT! My ass he kicked Esche's ass, let him fight Burke, Burke would eat his ass alive. And put that little prick Havlat on the ice and we'll show you some brotherly love.

haha

Lalime ATE him for dinner. Yes, Burke would haev cleaned him, but how about Neil pounding the daylights out of Timmander (or whomever it was)...Ottawa didn't lose a fight that night!

Dude honestly i think your either blind or you didn't see it because any news articles clearly stated Philly won. Btw...your team is a bunch of pricks, you sent Chris Neil a seasoned fighter after Radovan Somik, a 5"9 finesse skater that can't fight his way out of a paperbag.

Now on to Chara bashing..
He fought Timander and barely beat him..Chara is like 6 inches taller and like 50 lbs heavier then he is.

Honestly man ask anyone else on here, they say Philly dished it out.

Dude, Timander is totally the farthest thing from a fighter on the ice that night. Neil could have picked a better sparring partner but guess he is just *chicken* LOL
The only real fight that night saw Brashear pummel Ray.
...and through it all we kept watching Havlat sit in the penalty box, safe and sound.

Well your wrong to, because Radiojevic, Sharp, and Recchi (all under 6"0) all creamed sens in fair fights. Btw how many Sens you think it will take to stop Brashear?

Your right, I forgot about the Recchi fight, that was a good one.
But still, my point was I just don't consider those fights the real thing, since none of those guys were goons, like watching a Jagr fight a Kariya, etc.

I don;t care all three of those fights both players were throwing like crazy and Philly won all three.

Btw EDIT: I like to see players that normally dont fight, fight. You know its pure agression and they mean everything they do, not like a fighter where its just there job.
