i just dug that up in a tech magizine today
im thinkin i might wait for this one to come down a bit instead of geting the radion9800
the x800xt pl is supposed to be somewhat better and alot more efficient than that new nvidia 2 power supply/turbofan megaslotholder thing that is also very pricy

That is because ID had to write specific code to get Doom3 to work correctly on an nvidia card. nvidia has become full of themselves, and tamper with what is supposed to be universal code for their 'optimizations.'

They only wrote a specific path for the FX line, which rthey then dropped when the 6800 series was released. Nvidia now runs the full arb2 path(official opengl standards) in Doom 3. Nvidia is faster in Doom 3 because Nvidia has always been better at openGl. Its mostly because The 6800 series are really efficient at doing stencil shadows, something that Doom 3 is very heavy in.

I'll stick with my 9800 pro for now. Gonna upgrade my p4 to 3.4 when the price drop goes into effect late August

Look unde the for sale for trade forum. You can find nice procs that are known overclockers. I got my current P4 2.4 w/ 800 FSB knowing it was already overclocked to 3.4 and stable.
