 Ok..... Its only been 2 years since I've been a "teenager" residing in Canada. I dont think Agism is an adaquate way to brush off this poll.

Its obviously a poor, poor sample of any population, let alone a teenage population. Right now all over the world there are millions of individuals, young and old that have been questioning a lot of Bushs' actions. To take a poor sample of any of those places (even America... plenty of people that think their own country is "evil") you could conclude the same results applied to that place according to this BAD survey.

Some americans get bad raps here as being arrogant/ignorant. Some Canadians get bad raps in the US as being "slow...eh?" (hilarious simpsons episode) .... its a defensive nationalism some people seem to harbor. Hell, in some of these threads I've seen American people jump on the "make Iraq a parking lot" bandwagon. Regardless of Bushs' actions to drop humanitarian supplies ..... fighter jets or bombs....be it all at once or not...lol.... the point is that this is just a poll with a poor population sample, and that there are a LOT of different opinions EVERYWHERE that reign just as strong if not stronger than opinions displayed in this article. Go easy on eachother!

Oh, Canada!;)

Well I mean jealous in the sense that yes, they don't want Lance to win because they are probably getting tired of him and want their hometown guy to win - but I do think SOME of them boo him because he's won a lot AND is American. Definately not all, but some.

Good post Siren. Polls very rarely reliable because the questions can be worded to get whatever response you want.

Oh. Canada. :)

Regarding the French:

Many people in Ontario and most western provinces who have been to Quebec have always told me when they're in that province, people are rude, I myself have experienced that too. One time I was speaking English loudly with some friends on the streets while I was there, a group of French speaking older teens walks past us and started to give us these stares, they were all guys, they said something in French which I myself had no clue as to what it meant. One of the guys with us (the english speaking one) knew French well cause he took it in school past high school. Basically the French Quebecers said "Oh look, it's those damn Canadians, what the fuck are they doing here?" in French!!

Ugh... There have been other instances where I have been disrespected because I did not speak French but English to people in the province of Quebec...

Relations with peoples in Quebec have been not good since the referrendums, actually, I don't know if you guys know this but one of the runners chosen for the torch bearer for the Olympic games is a Seperatist (someone who voted YES to split Quebec from the rest of Canada, there have been two of those in my time)... So many people are against it, both Quebecers and Canadians, saying if hes' a Seperatist, why the hell is he running with the Olympic torch for Canada??

See, at least in the U.S. you don't have an almost entire State of people hating the rest of your country because you speak a different language and live a slightly different culture!

Chacal, you're not one of them... ;)

You are the world's only real empire now america so you are gonna have to get used to being hated. Don't worry though people have hated us for years, it just means they charge you more for your breakfast when you go on holiday.

Well actually we had a section of the country that wanted to seperate. We defeated them and ended their selfish vile institution.

To suppress that uprising we lost more men than we did in both world wars, the Korean war and the Vietnam war combined.

The youth of Iran are going to change that country and that effect will be greater than any we could ever accomplish. You should read Iranian blog's, a lot of Iran's younger generation dislike their government more than the average American does.

Thats what I am talking anout when I mention self dependency, the "teaching a man to fish parable", the people of Iran would be so much stronger and last so much longer if they do it themselves. Maybe not an Arab democracy? So what.

Found this article, which happens to go along with this quote from the Col.:
