in mass the driving age is currently 16 and a half but is soon to be 17

I think that fear has been around as long as the driving license. I don't know anyone who never feared they would change the age limit on their 15th birthday or soon afterwards.

Here in Illinois the permit age is 15 and the driving age is 16.

In Ohio, temps are available at 15 1/2, driver's liscense at 16.
