Off topic, but don't go too far overboard - after all, we are watching...heh.

Actually. You can do as high as 16 out of the box.

Problem is that when you start the server, even empty, it spikes to 100% CPU usage.

It rocks. Extremely immersive and gripping. You really need surround sound to fully enjoy it. Worth the cash definitely.

See you guys in BF when I am done with it.

Roger that JimmyT. Now we are going to see 15 bazillion clones over the next 5 years using this engine. Thats what ID does. Makes cutting edge engines and then makes a killing licensing their engine.

With any luck this will keep me occupied until Patch for Life 2...er I mean Half life 2 comes out.

It's scary man, the environments are totally immersive...

Somebody hold me... :(

It's also dark, if you're afraid of the dark, you're gonna have issues playing it..hehe

I also love how you can punch certain objects and send it flying, although, I hope they come out with an addon that lets you use the flash light and a weapon at the same time, because right now it's really annoying to switch back and forth.

1.8 GHz
256 MB RAM (Upgrading to 768 someday)
ATI Radeon 9500 Pro
SB Live Wave Device

Im probably gonna get it this weekend then for 45$ at CC. Read some reviews of multiplay and it sounds cool. Everyone complaining of the player limit needs to remember that more doesn't necesarily mean better. The best times I've had online have been playing Q3A on the Dreamcast with a max of 4 players. Nothing to this day can compare with those 4 people deathmatches. It's what made me buy a computer and get into online play.

I should be ok with 3ghz Amd, 9600xt, 1gig ram, Audigy 2 right. Oh and I got a sweet 6.1 surround sound setup.

I'm running it at 800x600, medium quality, nothing else.

AMD XP 1.8gig. 1gig of ram and a GeForce FX 5700 Ultra and it runs and looks awesome.

I swear the little babies creap me out. Gotta love the Beavertooth though.

I hope it has that atmospheric "feel" that Half Life had. That was awesome

and actually not sure if this a repost but for u ati users download the Catalyst 4.8 Beta from http://www.guru3d.com, it has excellent OpenGL enhancements. Make sure you uninstall the old display drivers before installing new ones.

some people say it's very repetetive. I'm aware that it still has the premise of the original doom where you basically shoot anything that moves, but are you guys getting bored of the gameplay? walk into a room, shoot, flashlight to see if it's dead, shoot some more, rinse and repeat.

graphics can only take a game so far. then it starts to get boring. are any of you finding this?

EB.

They have it, in the back. Ask for it. Threaten you will go postal on them if they do not sell it to you. Say that it is your destiny.

;)

I have had it since yesterday from my EB in Mississauga.

Bond, get more memory, 256MB isn't enough for anything new these days. Need 512MB or 1GB.
