thread hijack in progress :) i remember why i quit playing
Wolf now. getting shot through trees that were full of leaves.
i used almost default cvar settings. when i seen trees all
i could see was leaves, i have a feeling with those settings
the leaves would be gone.

Who all here at the Beach server use settings like those?

No, there is a command to get rid of tree limbs which your not allowed to use. I can't see through trees either, but im pretty sure people get around it.

My Shrub settings different, and more detailed because i noramlly play Shrub for fun. Also most Shrub servers have completely different settings, so i leave lintensity at about 2 and the brightbit settings at 2.

ConScIouS, why do you use settings like that? To get more
frames per second or to play on an even field with the other
players because they might be using settings like that?
Maybe some other reason?

I have had to reset my default CVAR on just about every standard map via PB and my screen never looked like that. It that cool to have those settings?

Well when you compete in TWL/CAL and they allow you to use settings like that, everyone does, so to keep even i use them to. Last season they limited them so you couldn't make it very bright at all, but they went back to the old style, and allowed you to take almost all detail and shadows out.

When i play Shrub i play with most of the stuff at game defaults, just slightly lighter, like most people do.

As far as being cool? No its not id much rather CAL/TWL limit what you can do, and make it so its close to default game settings, just a little lighter.

Thanks for the info ConScIouS. i had a feeling it was
because you felt the other players were using those settings
and in order for you to keep up, you must use them too.

It sounds to me like the extreme tweakers are the ones
making decisions at CAL and TWL. I hope CAL and TWL
players enjoy their game.

i remember when games were played on 4 color CGA screens.
i guess my true color ATI card would be a waste if i tried
to play in CAL or TWL.

They went back to old configs, to try and spark intrest into some of the older players to try and come back, because we barely have enough team for two tiers of competition. It didn't really work though, more players quit then came back. This may be the last season for two tiers of competition. Im hoping it isn't though.
