Hello all,
On February 16, my husband lost a good friend and partner, for those of you who didn't know my husband is a Police Officer. His partner suddenly suffered a severe stroke while on the job he was only 38 yrs of age and had five children that he left behind, the very sad thing about his death is that it happen out of nowhere, This really touched me because I think that people take life for granted, one minute you are here and the next your gone, I worry everyday my husband goes to work, I am afraid that something might happen and he will catch the one persons who will take his life, I never really worried about things like his health , but now I worry about everything.
I know his partner didn't die by a gun or anything but he did die while on duty and he will receive a police memorial, I just want to contribute this forum to all those police officers who have falling in the line of duty.
I know many of you probably say you hate cops and say that they violate peoples rights but the truth of the matter is that we need to appreciate what they do for us.
So please if you have any condolences or comments please feel free to post them
Thank You

Im sorry steph, I feel for ya. Although I havent lost anyone in the line of duty I do have some friends that are police officers. They stick their neck out on the line every time they suit up. I feel the same about them as you do for your hubby. My deepest regards to you and your family.

Steph I'm terribly sorry for your family's and the officer's family's loss. Terrible thing for a person to die so young. You mite find this hard to believe, but my father was a police officer for 25 yrs, retiring 2 yrs ago. Try not to worry so much, my mother used to say that its in God's hands and if your too busy worrying about what mite happened your wasting the time you have together. The stress that cops and their families are put under is something alot of people dont understand and police officers (most of them) get an unfair rap. So be tough for your husband, he needs your support and needs you not to be worried or he wouldnt be able to do his job.

Police officers are truly americas unsung heros. All you hear about are the bad cops but these guys risk their necks everyday so we can all be safer. I feel for anyone who has lost a friend or relative in the line of duty. My prayers and thoughts will be with the grieving family and with you and your husband. God bless.

Steph, sorry for your loss and your hurt.
It must take a lot of strength and courage to be the spouse of a police officer. Not only should we be thankful for the work that cops do, but we should also be thankful for those behind them.
