It blows. :P Actually, it's pretty fun. The battles are huge in scale. Just might pick this one up.

Wow, I've seen the show on the Hitory Channel where they use this game to recreate battles and wasn't really all that impressed at the time. But now that I've played the demo and visited that flash site I must say I am impressed, this could be one of those games where you get addicted to it. Not being familiar with the Total War games the controls and such seem a little awkward to me and the overall depth may be too much but I'll still give it a go. Good find.

Another cool game along these lines coming out soon is Kingdoms Under Fire for Xbox.

I like the total war games because you can't just tank rush like other RTS games (command and conquer series was bad for it).

If you want to win you have to take many types, and arrange them into differnt formations.

Like in shogun I couldn't just take 26 no dachi groups and rush them into battle, you have to have archers, pikemen, and calvary. Niether could take 16 heavy calvary groups or 16 pikemen groups. Or even 16 archer groups.

I just love the way these games are setup! I also like the way the game is laid out, and the "conquer japan" mode where you manage your clan's infrastructure and build armies.

OMG I love this demo! War elephants = the win. There's also a mod out there that lets you play as the Romans, which much more challanging but still a lot of fun. I can't wait for the full release!
