"After a standoff that lasted more than half an hour, top brass with the Emergency Task Force became worried about Brookes' increasingly erratic behaviour. They finally gave the O.K. for a sniper in the area to take the suspect out if possible.

Around 8:50am, the marksman succeeded, firing a single shot that hit the man in the head. Brookes collapsed to the ground, as a pool of blood oozed forth on the sidewalk in front of the astonished eyes of hundreds of witnesses. "

The thing is, that subway station is like Grand Central Station in NYC, there was a lot of people in that area, especially during the morning rush hour. I have been through that station many times...*sigh* I guess, even the city once voted one of the safest is becoming one of the worst...
