Off topic, but don't go too far overboard - after all, we are watching...heh.

That's like saying BF1942 is similiar to RTCW because it's set in WWII and you use the same types of weapons

gameplay has different meanings for different people. Its hard to narrow it down to just one specific definiton. For me, linearity, scriptedness, the theme/setting/atmosphere , the weapons and vehicles(if there are any), NPC interactivity, rpg elements, and environment interactivity are all part of the gameplay.

I never played bf1942

gameplay did seem better in RTCW than Doom3 (so far). Even AI in MOH AA seemed better (enemy troops took cover, threw grenades at me to flush me out)

To Doom 3's credit though, there are some zombified marines that do a bit of strafe dodging when charging at you. I was quite impressed with that the first time I saw it.

I have, and so far all the AI has done is stagger towards me. maybe it has something to do with difficulty setting? I'm playing on the middle setting, forget what it's called. 'marine' or something

Yes. I beat it in 2 days. No replay value.

Frankly I got sick of things popping up behind me over and over and over. Is that what they call brilliant AI? The innate ability to magically appear behind me every 12 seconds?
And what's with the "Zombie Closets"; hidden closets whose sole purpose (apparently) is for zombies to hide in until you pass by them...:|.
And Edogg, no offense but the "strafing" attacks by the zombified marines looked more like piss-drunk, lead-footed Rednecks trying to do "The Hustle" at the local hoe-down. Hardly impressive.
I loved the graphics, but the gameplay got repetitive all-too-soon for me.

it was impressive because I had never seen an AI monster do that before. Unless you can name another single player FPS where the AI does hardcore strafe dodging like that, I'll stick to what I said.
note: Im not saying that the overall AI is great. Im just saying that particular element was good.
