More Wireless Help

Postby Fingerbang » Tue Sep 07, 2004 12:54 pm

Hey camel... I hope your wireless problems arent as big as mine...

I recently installed Windows XP Pro, and reinstalled all my drivers, and wireless hardware. Everything was working perfectly, until I restarted one day, and when I now go into the Network Connections... I SEE NOTHING THERE!!!

I can still see the wireless card and the ethernet card both in the Device Manager, and have an active connection via the direct link as I have stretched a 50 foot cable across my house.

Anyone have any idea as to how I can get my connections to show again? I tried the connection wizard, but it is trying to set me up a dial up connection... This sucks...

Did some wireless connection software come with your "wireless hardware" that you were talking about? As far as I know the winxp wireless config utils suck donkey penis.

yeah they do suck! I have the cd that came with the router and my xbox game adapter, but no the wireless card themselves... I think I am going to try to call linksys again, but they said it was a Windows problem.

Bite the bullet and uninstall it completely, then install again.

Baddreams... I dont think I can deal with another reinstall. I was out of commission on here for 6 months last time. HA HA... I think I would rather have the cord strung out all over the house...

I don't mean reinstall windows.. I mean uninstall the wireless device and reinstall it with the software that it came with.
