Paanthers fan here :) I have to agree that the pats are a good damn team but that schedule does look a bit weak.

Ahem. Last year's schedule wasn't weak, and the Pats actually beat more teams with winning records than the '72 Dolphins. And this in a league with free agency and a salary cap.

16 straight wins.

I'll agree Brady is the beneficiary of a well-constructed, well-coached, selfless team concept...but give the man some credit...and give the team the credit they deserve. They were door-mats for years.

The Pats are playing very good team ball. But if you noticed last night, the Colts stopped themselves. Two red-zone fumbles, with one of them being on the 1 yard line? Yes, the defense hit hard, but James' lack of ball carriing is what won the game for NE.

I'm not saying they won't do well this year, but its too early to tell. The Colts are not a stong defensive team, and they don't run the ball exceptionally well. It will be interesting to see how the Pats do against a smash-mouth defense like my Steelers :)

I love when people say things like "We would have won the game, except for those 3 fumbles"...or, "...if we didn't throw those interceptions."

The Pats had their share of screw-ups, that actually kept the Dolts in the game (Branch's laughable fair catch attempt). Things happen on both sides, each team has great plays and screw-ups.

How about this, "If the Pats didn't make any mistakes they would have won the game 35-0!"

Great game last night. I loves me football especially me New England football. As for some previous statements. The AFC East division is the top division in the entire league IMO. All the other comments I laugh at, just last year when the Pats got shut out by the Bills a lot of people just gave up on them and they were the most underated team there for more then half the season. Now all the jokers come out of the wood work to criticize the Pats cuz their team didn't win. It's just part of being defending champs that people are going to be highly critical and hostile.

My real question is why was the opening show better then the damn superbowl halftime show?

Pats are a great football team. Last season they were plagued by injuries, but still managed to win games. The Colts are another good team, but still have a few kinks in their system. I can easily see both of those teams having 12 wins at least. I myself am a Cowboys fan and I think they will be contenders this year as well. For anyone in this thread who says Pats suck or the Colts suck and you are serious.....you really know nothing about football.

I know one thing, the rams play the cardinals this sunday...and for some reason, i have the distinct feeling that the rams will lose.

YES S.Loin the Cowboys win or lose

Football is a religion down here AND the 'boys are the high priests.

The Texans are just getting started, we will have to see.

Oh and Miami- I saw my bud Rick Williams the other day in Austin and he says high to all y'all over in Fla.

C. Ingus- man your scaring me with your indepth analysis of the NFL.
Damn.

Lastly Canadian Football; I have seen the game played outside [years ago]. It takes some cojones to play like that.

I bet this thread will go on for about 7 months or more.

yea yea yea.......In most cases, if you arent from texas, you really dont like the cowboys. But i must say that since the additions of Julius Jones, Keyshawn, and Vinny, i think we are a better team than last season. Our only weakness that could really hurt us this season is our right cornerback position. Philly is a great team though. Im just curious like a cat on how the Eagles managed to land Owens the same way im curious on how the Pats landed Dillon. You would think that they already have a huge payroll and that they couldnt afford those two.

On a different note.....who is your vote for the worst team in the NFL this season. Im going with the Cardinals, just because they suck more than a gloryhole on a Saturday night.
