Speaking of cpu problems, whats the average CPU temperature for an AMD athlon 64???
this is getting to hot!!!!!!

not sure about the 64's but my xp3200 idles at 55c

My 3500 runs about 55 under load on stock heatsink. My buddies 3400 was running hot untill his motherboard BIOS update. I haven't heard anything about Gigabyte temperature misreads but I haven't been looing into it either. You may want to try the update though.

We had that problem for a while. We had to put an additional fan in.

Sounds like a virus or a corrupt file. Try a system restore maybe? Hopefully you have a couple of recent restore points to try.

If you have a recent backup, restore it.

unfortunately I cannot place more fans inside I got 4 fans running right now.
I have been checking amd forums and some people told that with all the info I gave them, only 3 reasons can be the problem.

- need a new power supply with more than 20 A in 12V
- thermal paste is not set right and i have to unplug the heat sink and put a new one
- My stock heatsink that came with my AMD 64 doesnt cool the cpu enough faster so I would have put a better one.

I am gonna start buying a new PSU to see if it works.
