Civilization IV has been designed to fully support the mod community. The game is written using flexible XML data files and the Python scripting language so that modders will have no trouble at all creating their own personalized worlds, units, technologies, and historical events. Advanced modders will even be able to control the AI.
Why not just allow people to make their own units like in alpha centari? I loved that system.
It's like, hey! Don't mind me with my 100 x bombers on your border. lol

I wish they would use that system instead of the resaearch a unit.
It was cool to make "advanced agricultural units" too. like the worker in siv, but you cold put tracks, buggy, armor, and whatnot on it.

CIV3 was one of my favorite games for a while, now if only they could tweak the game so that a 2000 year old ally wont turn against you for some coal

*cries* I wish I still had Alpha Centari, it was sooo fun. 
It was thrown away a while back when my mother went and chucked everything from my music CDs to my games.
