Ladies and Gentlemen...

Sun Jan 23, 2005 7:58 pm

...the best team in NFL history has just finished their first half bitch slapping of Pennsylvania's only hope at a Super Bowl Title.

Stay tuned for further face-rubbing.

wow, can the steelers be losing anymore.....score as of 8:34 pm est is 31 to 3 , wow go Ben go, holy one for the thumb in 2041, god help me

Sun Jan 23, 2005 9:43 pm

Fuckin Steelers.......

Sun Jan 23, 2005 9:56 pm

I'll miss seeing steely jawed Bill Cowar frothing at the mouth on the sideleines like a mental patient long past his medication time.

One question I have; late in the game, Pittsburgh with a 4th and goal in the 3rd quarter and Cowar goes for a FG??

He needed a touchdown. even if he blew it he'd have trhe Pats pinned DEEP in their end with all the momentum.

A head scratcher...but I'm a Pats fan so in my mind anything the Steelers tried would have failed miserably.

Me thinks you may be underestiamting the Birds a bit. Granted the Pats will still be the favorite. But if TO comes back, the defensive backs may not be able to get away with all the clutching & the grabbing.

That's what the Colts said.

Number one reason why teams lose; they underestimate their opponent....a mistake the Pats NEVER make.

The Eagles are not the Colts, they have a defense (include some first team all-pro players).

I believe the Steelers had the best defense in the league. 41 points scored against the best defense in the playoffs?

And All-Pro?? What the hell does that mean in the real world.

Rodney Harrison deserves All-Pro status more than half the stiffs voted on that team.

Add it up.

Colts had the best offense. Stuffed.

Steelers the best defense. Steam rolled.

Philly beat up on the sisters of the poor all year. Media Darlings.

Well put ZOG

Based on points allowed per game, the Eagles were the best D in the league when they clinched the conference first seed and decided to rest all the starters. And the weakness of the Steelers D was their secondary. However, the Eagles will be the best defensive backfield the Patriots will have faced this year (and the Pats are primarily a passing team). And they will have the best defensive coordinator they will have faced all year as well.

Let's review the math:

Colts: Doom team playing in snow

Steelers: Rookie QB that had a very low QB rating the second half of the season. Team needed OT to get by the Jets.

Eagles: ???

All-pro in the real world maans good player. And Rodney Harrison wasn't all pro because of some "stiff" named Brian Dawkins.

And the Eagles = media darlings??? Sorry, that argument is more appropriately used on the Pats.

You mentioned earlier that the strength of the Pats was not taking their opponents for granted. Yet they are only human. I am hoping they share some of these beliefs youa re mentioning.

Mon Jan 24, 2005 9:20 am

Keep hoping, baby! That will keep you happy until reality sinks in.

I believe Rodney Harrison was left off this mystical "All-Pro"team because of that over-rated John Lynch. Harrison is a yapper, and doesn't have many friends outside his own team (reminds me of someone I know  ).

The All Pro is a joke. You can take all your All Pro nominations and put them on your mantle. The Pats happens to have a few multiple Super Bowl Champs on their team. Does that count for anything?

Mon Jan 24, 2005 11:13 am

Yes that counts for something but dammit, stop arguing with me!! I am going to keep hoping 'til I'm blue in the face. Now repeat after me:

E-A-G-L-E-S

EAGLES!!!!!!

Mon Jan 24, 2005 11:19 am

I hear ya mang, I'm only prodding you...:P.

I'm sitting here listening to all this BS that I'll have to endure over the next 13 days and I'm thinking to myself;

"Do not look past the Eagles."

"Do not under-estimate the NFC champs."

"Never assume a win."

It realistically looks like the Eagles are in for a rude awakening, but it's only one game and you never know what can and will happen.

That being said, I'd invite you to look at the Eagles record against QUALITY TEAMS. You may want to take a shot of whiskey before you do.

If you know anything about football or have played football you should know the weather is not a factor at all. The only thing that could affect the game weather wise is the wind and the kicker, nothing else. I hate how the media hypes up the game and ex-football players choose a team to win because they think the weather will affect the other team more. No way. These people are paid to play, weather doesnt mean shit. They are althletes after a few plays they are warmed up. Theyre out there working, that shit dont matter.

And if you team is depending on one player, cough TO cough, to come back and win it for them, then theres your teams downfall. The Patriots rely on eachother as a team not a single "star player".

Like Zog said before the Pats have proven time and time again we can stop anyone and we can score points on anyone. We shut the Colts fans up, we shut the Steelers fans up, and now we are going to shut the Eagles fans up, including you trashcan.

I think if there was a team that could have stopped us, it was the Steelers...we all know what happened there.

GO PATS!

I wonder when this team will finally get the respect they deserve. How many superbowls do we have to win, how many hearts do we have to break. I want respect damn it!!!!! :D

I see a dynasty in the near future. :)
