Picked up a Mac Mini the other day!

Postby cavalierlwt » Wed Feb 02, 2005 12:08 am

Finally managed to snag a Mac Mini this Sunday, unfortunately had to get it a CompUSA which was a bad experience. I got the $499 model, I haven't upgraded the memory yet. I have to say, this thing is pretty damned cool. My first Mac, so I have a lot to learn, but so far I'm impressed.

This is perfect for someone like me. I'm windows user but wanted to try out OSX. I got a KVM switch so I can use the same mouse, keyboard, and monitor with the the Mini Mac (it takes up no space on my desk). $499 is a pretty good entry price for this thing, plus it could wind up on my home entertainment center if I decide to someday get a G5. I definately recommend it to anyone looking to check out OSX but on a budget (assuming $499 isn't too painful to you).

Nice. I have the 15' Powerbook G4, Imac G5, and PowerPC Tower G4, Dual 1.5 Ghz., 2 GB RAM, Ati Pro 9800. Macs are nice very kick-ass quality. The only thing I hate about Apple is that they are too exspensive most of the time.

Although I am a Mac user hardcore, I still have a PC for games I want to play, that aren't on Mac :-) However I love playing Wolf on my Mac hehehe.

The applications are simple. The OSX system is the best os-especially in comparison to Windows.
Unix playes a major role on Macs as well. They included that when they first released OSX years ago.

Infact, Tiger OS which is about to be released very soon, is far more advanced and ahead of LongHorn(PC's soon to come operating system which will be better than Windows) which isn't even out yet lol. I'm looking forward to Tiger. Badass stuff. :)
