Off topic, but don't go too far overboard - after all, we are watching...heh.

I really hope there will be episodes 7,8, and 9. Leia starts had jedi powers (and remember Yoda mentioning there was one more?) and I really want to see her kick some ass.

The 'one more' is Leia.

There will not be any more movies unless Lucas really hits dire straits.

Good maybe that means the 4th Indiana Jones will be completed somtime this century. Someone get Lucas and Spielberg together so they can get it goin.

You know George Lucas made the first three star wars flicks without the aid of special effects and CG graphics. He relied on a good plot, focusing more on the story than the eye candy. Something he stayed clear of when making the last three movies.

Yes that is true...If anyone heard on the news Lucas has already openly said he is'nt going to make another movie...Maybe hes just saying that to kill our hopes and then in a couple years all of a sudden surprise us...He said he was happy hes done with the trilogy because of the loss of profit to pirated films...another example of a rare few rewening it for everyone...:(

Exactly. The first 3 movies were made by the compelling characters. Sure, the special effects are awesome for that time period, but the characters and actors made the film...

I think its great that in the begining of the movie that Yoda warns Aniken that in order to become a very good Jedi he would have to let go of his feelings and love for loved ones like his wife...He then go's off and has a dream and forgets what Yoda told him...and he gos and does exactly what Yoda warned him not to do...Yodas awsome :D

CGI or not, all of the movies have pushed the FX envelope during their time.

Apparently he really loved his wife. And if you really love your wife, you can't just forget her and stop caring about her. :violin:

I think Aniken's downfall was he loved her too much...That is very true what you said though, you could do a similie to the Spiderman Story with this one...

"With great power comes great responsibility." Said by Uncle Ben

This is a very good quote and is a verry memorable moment in Spiderman 1.;)

Yeah, I'm not so sure you can say Lucas spent more effort now rather than then on the effects. They weren't CGI, but they prob took just as much effort in their day.

One good review of Ep III quoted the effects editor (or something like that) as saying George liked to spend more time in the effects shop than on the set... and the reviewer drew the connection to the problems with the movie.

That said, Lucas, as well as other movies like Sky Captain, have shown that they can pretty much do everything but act with the computer. Hopefully, as this becomes mundane, we'll see a renewed emphasis on story and character.

One thing EP I-III show is that, despite great effects, a decent story (thematically), some great actors, and a concept of three dimensional characters, without a good script (dialogue), the whole thing can fall flat. Perhaps the direction was lacking, too, but I'm not sophisticated enough to spot that.
