They aren't screwing around over there!

Fri Jul 22, 2005 7:52 am

And IMHO we shouldn't be screwing around here (US) either.

Yeah, Canada either......

:)

It sounds like they shot him in cold blood but really if you run from the police the day after a bunch of terrorist attacks what can you expect. Were they supposed to give him time to detonate any device he might have had before taking extreme measures?

That policeman will have the book thrown at him all the same...

Fri Jul 22, 2005 8:35 am

if the police hadn't shot him and then he proceeded to blow up a train, kililng people, there would have been an outcry of lack of security, not enough done, etc..

Bottom line is, when the cops are chasing you, stop and lie on the ground, if you are truly innocent.
Great job done by the British police force.

Agreed with CodeRed68. If you're innocent, then behave accordingly. If you're not, then run... and get shot.

Anyone thinking of bringing a bomb on the subway will think twice, not for moral reasons but for worry of failure. That quick and very decisive action let the terrorists know that it is going to be MUCH harder to repeat the first bombing.

Fri Jul 22, 2005 11:02 am

I imagine its kind of difficult to not shoot first and ask questions later when dealing with these maniacs.

Fri Jul 22, 2005 11:46 am

I thought the police in Britain did carry guns

Fri Jul 22, 2005 12:24 pm

But one witness told the British Broadcasting Corp. that police "pushed him onto the floor and unloaded five shots into him."

^^^^
Thats what i like to see. Good Job.

sounds like the time in new york when police unloaded on an african guy who knew no english and was only reaching for the registration or insurance in the glove compartment.

Fri Jul 22, 2005 1:38 pm

No, they knew who this guy was, and they were following him in regards to the previous bombing. When he bolted for the subway, they took no chances. One passenger said the guy look terrified, like a cornered fox. That's right motherf***, you're going to allah with piss stained underwear :)
