Brushes with fame / 15 mins of fame

Driving home from a SOX game back in the early 90's we saw Bo Jackson on the highway in a suh-weeet Mercedes.

In Vegas saw Robert Goulet (spelling?) in the NYNY

At the airport last week when I was going to Vegas my buddy saw the keyboard player for the Doors and said hello.

In High School i worked at McD's and David Coverdale and Tawny Kitean came through the drive through the night after I had seen Whitesnake at Poplar Creek Music Theatre which is now closed.

Oh and I used to work at a Marriott in Schaumburg and when the Bulls were gods, Pippen had a business meeting with his agent and some guy in our restaurant, about 20 of us kept finding reasons to walk through there.

That's all I remember off the top of my head...what are yours?

Oh yeah, my 15 mins of fame, in 5th grade I went on the Bozo show, I got picked to play the team game. My team of 5 was able to blow a cup up a string faster than the other team, I won a box of candy and a lite brite and was on TV for a couple mins.

In 7th grade our school had a science fair, I and two others from my school were picked to go down to New York City
to be in the Academy of Sciences annual science fair..
We were also chosen to be part of the movie "The Manhattan Project" in the scenes with the science fair when he took the bomb to NYC. Was fun being in a movie, even got paid as extras.

I have a sad lack of brushes with fame. I used to work for Worldcom doing a job that required me to spend a lot time in Manhattan, in Tribecca. There's quite a few famous people in this neighborhood and it's a pretty common occurence to spot one. The thing is, my co-workers all smoked, they would take a 15-20 minute smoking break and go stand outside the building, and they'd spot these people. I don't smoke so I would miss it constantly. Eventually I started hanging out with them on their smoke breaks...still nothing. It seemed like everytime I skipped hanging out with them, they would see someone famous, usually Robert Deniro walking his dog. Even new guys who had only started working with us for like a week would come up all excited with a picture of Deniro and his dog, or some friggin model. I just couldn't win.

Umm, I was on NASCAR This Morning, befor the Watkins Glen race with my Causin (Purple Hat). He did a tour of the bus we take down there. Im in the backround some where. But was cool to be on TV...again.

Was on tv YEARS ago when some show was doing a report on AmTrack. AN at how bad they sucked. Is was but a wee kid at the time. AN they took a shot of me wating on the loading area, for the train to come around the bend. stood there for like an hr (was an hr late).

Only brushed with athleats when I was at the glen. Met Roby Gorden when his family had dinner with a race fan in the infield. Met Jack Roush at an autgraph setion. Friend of mine met Rusty Walace while he was driving around the suvanair trailers on his golf cart.

My friend got an cool suvanear durring happy hr. We where in the paddock area, watching the cars pull in an out. Bobby pulls up, the crew works on it a sec, takes off the fan belt, an throughs it over the fence. My friend cought it. an 2 years later, sold it for 100$...

I have been on TV a few times... minor things on local news.. i live about 20-30 mins from crawford so i have seen President Bush.. umm i was behind him while he was being interviewed by a camera crew once...dont know i might of been national? I was on the "denver huddle" at denver broncos training camp, I saw Ozzy Osbourne when we were at his house when visiting california,in Cleveland, i saw Snoop Dogg, Archbishop don 'magic' juan, korn and linkin park were checking out when we were checking in and Vince Neal was in the bar.. Then a ton of football/hockey players.. oh and i forgot to mention Mike Jones like 3 times... lol
