I'll be at the Sox game tomorrow 3pm CST, going with the boss so I think I will be ok to leave early
. I'll hopefully post a pic of the WHITE Sox victory.
Also GO STL, I like the Cards (unless we meet in the WS).

i've been saving my bones for WS tickets... if we get that far. i was at the 2nd to last Reg Season game at Busch Stadium, i dont want a 1st or 2nd round playoff loss to tarnish that memory. GO CARDS!

They are still playing baseball. I wish the footballl season would last 9 months. You couldn't pay me to go watch a MLB game. Playoff or not. Thank god hockey starts wed.

Demoliton of Busch starts shortly after the post-season for the Cards. Although i love the stadium, i've been to several of the newly built ones and Busch doesn't compare in quality or comfort. Among the worst stadiums are the "cookie-cutters" which Busch is clasiffied.
I ran into Walt Jockety's wife, (Walt is the Card's GM) while working one day and we talked about the new stadium. The current Busch is as nice as an old stadium could be because they pump so much money into maintaining it. The new stadium is replacing a somewhat reliable stadium but some change is needed in the riverfront downtown area in St. Louis. They are doing some nice things and when they are done with the stadium and the Baseball village St. Louis city will finally be cleaned up and actually have residents again.
Thats pretty much the extent of the stadium convo we had.
The Astro-turf was terrible and the tarp machine used to cover up the diamond was a man-eater. Just ask Vince Coleman who got wrapped up in it for about 30 seconds in 1985.

King, that sounds real similar to what they did here in Houston when the Astros moved out of the Astrodome to the new ballpark they built in downtown Houston. Before the new ballpark, that side of downtown was like a wasteland full of rundown warehouses and abandoned buildings. Now it's really nice with fancy restaurants, hotels, and sports bars.

i cant wait to go to the Demo... i was there when they demolished the st. louis arena... one of the coolest things i've ever seen in person.
By this time next year, maybe my cards will be in the post season in their new stadium...
