Ok , so by your argument , 8 snipers on the beach to take out only 2 allowable Panzers on the Axis side is a benifit ?. Morover I cant even remember the last time I got nailed with a panzer in the trenches . usually those blokes are in the War room. Its a matter of resources, I like the sniper class , it is a real strong point in the game , however once that wall comes down and you have almost a third of your team left on the beach it becomes a massive
DEFICIT . i would love to have 1 really good sniper , hell even 2 on the beach to take care of straglers but 8 or even 10!! I saw this past weekend makes my stomach turn. Coincidently I tooka tally of those players and all had scores of 8 or 11 for the entire 20 minute round. There not helping , there bandwith leeches of the worst kind.

Hmmm....i've played for at least an hour everyday for the last 2 weeks and never once seen 8 sniper on the beach...i think i saw 4 once.
Come on man, figure it out.

i did say panzers and LTS as well. Can't remember the last time you got nailed by a panz in the trenches?? I think your on your own there....
None the less, I can see your point, and I agree that 8 sniper isn't helping anything. But that was never my argument in the first place.

I used to think this way, also. The problem, though, is that the dickhead Axis sticking his head out to panzer/airstrike your buddies has almost always just spawned also. And they move quickly to get out that attack so they can still be invulnerable to the snipers.
When I first came to this beach, I sniped alot. I got damn good at it - had myself a great sniping routine that allowed for much quicker target acquisition. What bothered me was that out of 10 true headshots, I would get maybe 1-2 kills. I knew darn well that it should have been 10 kills.
This is my own experience. I don't say this to bash snipers. I still snipe sometimes on other servers and have alot of fun with it. What I learned about this beach is that Allied snipers only harass the enemy. That's fine. Harassment is part of a war/game. And I think 2 Allied snipers (good ones) is a good number to accomplish this. Any higher number is a waste of resources.
The 2 snipers don't accomplish this by sitting on the hill and firing shot after shot. Good snipers shoot once or twice and then get the hell out of there to find another position. Fire a couple more shots and move again. This can be frustrating to the enemy who pours resources to the beach expecting to find a bunch of idiot snipers, only to find 1 or 2 and not have their sniper-hunters defending the documents in a now Allied-filled basement.

Well when the sniper falls into that nice little nook on the hill that you can climb up to, he's get a lovely view. True, he may not kill a few enemies right from the spawn due to invulnerability, but, it seem from my experience that you can still pick of quite a few from that position. Not only that, but you can also pick off the axis that make a run for the flag, or get cocky enough to storm the trenches. I've said it before and I will say it again. Sure, if you have a bunch of snipers out there it's gonna be more useless than anything, but if i look out and see that there are no snipers, i figure what the hell, i could use a peacfull snipe right about now.

Geez, come to think of it, they really ruin the game for the Axis and Allied team!
Axis- They have some cheap kills from the beach from some no-skilled people.
Allies- They lack active members to help them fight and take the docs.

Axis - A kill is a kill. Don't like it? Grab up the tissues.
Allies - The whole argument was that snipers pick off the panzers/lt's (this has been said about 100 times now), and in turn, would allow more allied to get inside.

I think the point here though is that there are too many of them, and that is a valid point, but I think that there is definitely a plus to having a few of them on the beach for the whole game. God knows they aren't doing it to try and rack up points.
Even if they do turn into cheap panzers, its still a better use than a dumbass sniper. Anyone who plays sniper full-time is just useless. Occasionally, it's fun.

It's your choice if you want to be a sniper, but as everyone else is saying, it seems really useless to be one after the wall blows. It's hard enough playing as Allies and when the bunker gets recaptured by the Axis and I have to run my ass up the beach, AND I PASS A SNIPER, I'm like "SHIT! get up there and cap it for us moron!" I wish that there was a 2 sniper (or maybe even 1 sniper limit) once wall blows. Cause it's so frustrating when you're trying to cap the docs and there's 5 ppl sitting on the beach with their Mausers up their Ahole trying to pop on spawn. One thing I love about RTCW is the diversity of roles. ID did a great job making everyone rely on each other (espeically the medic/lt relationship). Some people just want the "enemy at the gates" rush of killing someone the whole map away. I, however, never play as a sniper and get my jollies off of being a crazy ass medic. I think that is the most action packed class. I hope that you snipers have fun though, just wish there was a limit after wall blows.
