What age do you consider to old for trick or treating?
60.
We have candy - a bag of Reese's mix (Peanut Butter Cups, Reese's Pieces, Fast Break, and Inside Out PBC) and a bag of 3 Musketeers. We had one kid come to the door. She wasn't any older than 3, dressed as a pumpkin. I told her parents that she wins the prize and pretty much gave her one of everything. Or more - I forget really. Plus, Ender stopped by and nabbed a handful. He was dressed like a white suburban guy. I barely recognized him
Anyhow I'm really disappointed with Halloween lately. Not since I was a little kid have I seen it as it appears in movies like E.T. - kids walking all over the neighborhood dressed up, going to house after house yelling "TRICK OR TREAT!". I remember my parents buying 10 bags of candy and running out.
About when I hit High School it really tapered off. I still liked getting a costume and going out and about but it seemed like the atmosphere had changed. Kids were more interested in being destructive. No one seemed to have that spirit I knew from my younger years.
Then - recently - all this terrorism bullshit has reduced the experience to walking around a brightly lit mall and annoying the workers, or other such "safe alternative" events. Kind of depressing, really. This is one of my favorite holidays and it's just gone to shit.
