Don't people ever use a phone book?

Tue Nov 15, 2005 4:36 pm

My phone number must be popular for people who have legal troubles and bill collectors. Because I get all these people calling me asking for people who I never even heard of, then they get mad at me when I ask them if they ever used a phone book.

Dail 0 or look in a phone book. It isn't that hard.

I just got ANOTHER call, the man wouldn't identify himself or anything.
"Hello is Thomas there?"
No, a Thomas doesn't live here.
"Is Thomas Jenkins there?"
No, I don't know a Thomas Jenkins.
"So this isn't the Jenkins residence?"
This is A Jenkins residence.
"A Jenkins?"
Yes my last name is Jenkins. You can look this number up in the phone book, it doesn't belong to a Thomas.
"So even if it were a legal matter you woudln't know Thomas?"
I just told you I don't know ANY Thomas. I'm the only Jenkins that lives here, look it up in the phone book.
"Ok looky here I'm not trying to sound like a smart ass....he goes on for a little bit..."
I cut him off and he keeps talking
Have a nice day *click*

Jesus I hate people who give my number for their bill collectors and legal matters.

O yeah. I just looked in the phone book and found the guys phone number who he was trying to find.

Thomas A Jenkins 540-678-1388
Feel free to crank call this shithead!

Say, "This is Thomas..."
He'll say, "Blah blah blah"
You'll say, "Hey.. go F#@#@ yourself!"

hahaha.. screw them both! Thomas (whoever he is) and the person calling you.

LoL my gran has an unlisted number which is very similar to a local taxi firm. People would call her up late at night when drunk and ask for taxis and it was annoying her. So I told her to pretend to be the taxi firm and say a taxi was on it's way. I figured by the time they had waited for an hour in the cold on the roadside they'd sober up enough to call the right number then they'd give them shit for not sending a taxi. She tells me no-one ever calls back so I guess it works :D

Why would you post the number of the person tryign to be reached? Its not his fault people cant get his number right..

Makes you kinda an ass for posting his number when hes done nothing wrong.

I ussualy ask how they got my number and they iether say "I'm not privledged to say" or some shit along those lines or they say that is who the party said their phone number was.

did it ever occur to you that they might just be going through the book and trying any Jenkins to find THE Jenkins? bill collectors do this all of the time hoping to find a family member.

posting his number like that is wrong since you don't really know if it was intentional. know what i mean? 540-829-9059
