If it was me he'd be out of the clan and banned from the server. That said I think people get way too concerened about bad language. As long as people know when to be polite I see no problem with them swearing.

I also think that seeing as his mum says nothing from just before he starts really mouthing off that he waited for her to be out of earshot before he mouthed off and did it to look 'cool'. Quite why anyone would think chocolate milk was 'cool' is beyond me but that's the way I think it was.

There are so many worse things that go unheeded while people obsess about what words their kids use...

Kids, adults whoever. These words are only bad if you make them so. Fashions for words change. Tone and intent is more important than the actual text imo. Did you know for example that till the 19th century cunt was always considered the polite form. I personally think that many of the scientific, socially acceptable words are far more unpleasant than their anglo-saxon counterparts which are considered rude. I'm not saying that it's preferable that kids swear I'm just saying does it really matter?

I know plenty of obnoxious children who are as polite as you like but treat other people like cattle. I also know foul mouthed little buggers who have a heart of gold. For me it's all about context and intent rather than an absolutist 'these words are bad' standpoint.

Hmm.. I hear (understand) what you're saying. BUT. Let's talk about habits, habitual things like swearing, society and one's place in society.
Most people want their children to gravitate towards the upper levels of soceity where one's lingual habits are key. If you want your children to grow into the bottom level of society - by all means, don't curb the language. If you allow children to curse up a blue streak, they then become accustomed to it, it becomes a habit to talk that way and they are forever marked at a certain rung of society. It also becomes tiresome to listen to someone whose vocabulary consists of all swear words.

None of this even touches on the disrespect he shows towards his mother which is intolerable.

I understand what you are saying, i for one have a mouth like a sailor fucking a whore in the poopshoot.

Having a foul vocabulary and showing respect for people are two different things. No doubt the kids defiance comes from the way he was raised, and no doubt his language comes from gamers on their "teamspeak" or whatnot. This kid is just a work of art, praise him as a creation of Leonardo.;)

I cursed alot, ALOT. for a while there. Was a phase I guess.

As for if it is ok or not. I know my father was a little loser then my mother on the topic. He would tell me dirty jokes or whatnot. (not when I was six but maybe when I was 13 or so) But if one bad word came out of my mouth in front of him and my mother, he would squash that quick. I don't care about adults doing it. They are just words. SavageParrot said it best.

Funny story related to this topic kinda.

My brother's and I went to a Carolina Panthers vs NY Jets football game in North Carolina. We are from LI NY. As we were leaving the stadium after the game. My one brother was talking a bit and saying f-in this, f-in that. He was a little drunk. And some southern guy walking next to us turns and says, "typical New Yorker f-in everything" I think he watched to many mafia movies or something. :D
