Lol Chacal!!
Siren & CreepingCharlie: yes, I saw Narnia last night. I might be a little biased, but it was downright fantastic. I first read Lord of the Rings in the 5th grade, read about and learned the romances of King Arthur starting around the 4th, and have been into fantasy as well as medieval history and literature for years.
And reading the Chronicles of Narnia starting back in the 3rd grade is what got me started. It was one of the first books I remember reading on my own (Lion, Witch, and Wardrobe) and have had a certain love for the Narnia stories my entire life. I felt they did the books justice with this movie.
It is, hands down, worth seeing in the theater. Do NOT wait for DVD. The epic scenes won't be played out nearly as well.
And Siren, the Stone Table scene is dead on to the book. You won't be disappointed.
EDIT: Sorry to hijack the thread!

Move as a team, never move alone. Welcome to the Terrordome!
Saw Narnia last weekend. Pretty good, I thought. Hard to judge how well they told the story, since I knew the story so well, there wasn't any suspense. I wonder what people who don't know the book have to say about it.
As for musicals... what about the South Park movie, or Team America? Both musicals, and hilarious. The Wizard of Oz is pretty good, too. Not a fan of most others, but I will admit to liking several stage musicals--Godspell, Joseph--and I also enjoy opera. Saw The Marriage of Figaro with my grandmother a couple months back in Toledo.
Dunno about Brokeback Mountain. I like to think I'm secure enough in my heterosexuality to handle a movie about a couple gay guys. But then, it's a romantic drama. Two guys, or a guy and girl, I probably wouldn't choose to watch it unless I was coerced.
But that can be a good thing. I wouldn't have watched The Notebook if a girl hadn't sent it as a gift, and it was really good.
What is it about gay men that makes straight men so uncomfortable, I wonder. Do women feel the same way about lesbians?

Now if Brokeback Mountain was the story of two beautiful *cowgirls* who become intimate on the mountain......it's a whole other thing though

BTW, I'll probably watch Syriana, but probably when it comes on cable. Movies about oil could be big the way movies about nuclear bombs (James Bond, etc) used to be.
Someone at work was telling me about an oil/doomsday book that featured a scenario where a couple of major sources of oil got wrecked --a Katrina style hurricane hits the coast, wrecks a bunch of refineries and oil platforms, and in Saudi Arabia a terrorist group manage to blow up one or two biggest refineries there (Tom Clancy had something similar to kick off 'Red Storm Rising'). The end result, a big % drop in the oil being shipped to the US for the next 5 years of so, oil goes to like $150 plus per barrel, massive catastrophe.
Interesting stuff, to me anyway.
edit: actually, it was a made for TV 'docudrama' called 'Oil Storm'. I'll have to find it.

Jaimz Woolvett (The Schofield Kid): Yeah, well, I guess he had it comin'.

I'll see Brokeback when it is on DVD.
My home theather(no, not that BOSE bullshit) sounds better than 99% of the theaters i have ever been in. The only time I see a movie now a days is if it is one I feel is a must see.
Syriana is a must see for me and will most likely see it on sunday.
Constant Gardener was one, but it was not at the locla theather(5 minutes away) and I never drive 25 minutes to go to a jam packed mall to see a movie.
Might see King Kong, but I know my home system will sound 10x better.
If anyone cares:
Mains
Center
Rears
Sub
Running on a Harman Kardon 525. it's getting a little old, so I am looking to upgrade the receiver, most likely a HK 635, what I really want:
Emotiva UL Pre/Pro and Amp Combo

That would make a great movie. It would be a huge undertaking though. Very big project, scope-wise.
