Lol. Set us back 100 years! YEAH!!!!!! Government should do nothing during a reccession! Proven the government has to do something about 150 years ago, then REALLY proved by a man named President Hoover....

Hoover did practically fuck all... 'Too little too late'. It was FDR that really clawed you out of the depression.

Me too. Nothing wrong with shagging interns. I'd would have hired better looking interns though.

Yeay! Secret CIA prisons, NSA spying on us, things are shaping up Double Plus Good!!!

On the other hand, there is a definite resistance movement rising against the dictature. Senators have refused to authorize an extension of the "patriot" act, Bush has been forced do disavow torture and European countries will now be quite hostile to CIA. All in all, a very good couple of weeks for democracy in your country!

John McCain (guy who really pushed the anti torture agreement) is really earning some political clout for the 08 presidential election. If he wins, I think a lot of people will be happy, even Democrats. He is ironically the true 'uniter' of the two parties.

BTW
It kills me to this day that they called it 'The Patriot Act'. Regardless of one's opinion, what the hell did it have to do with 'patriotism'. This isn't an anti-anything rant, just common sense. Call it the 'Security Act' or 'Anti Terrorism Act' or something similar to that. They just liked the idea of being able to say 'so and so voted against the Patriot Act'.
What's next 'The Kitty Cat and Puppy Dog Act' or 'The Kindly Old Grandmother Act' 'The Terminally Ill Child Act'. Yeah, just try voting against something with a name like that.
