Btw, anyone else who needed the same thing, and don't feel like searching those forums, i found this on the forums.
The program is flat out great. I don't think I've ever used a better freeware program than that.

you know, that dvd-ripping is still illegal, especially at the states, right conscious

? not the ripping itself but the removement of the encryption (knowing, that i do the same the last 4 years).
only a remark, nothing more.

not if I want to back up my own DVD or put in in a format suchas for the ipod so I can watch the content I paid for

not really. if the dvd has no css-encryption, you're right. if yes, then ripping and re-encoding is against the law, cause you alter the raw-material in a way, that it is no more copy-protected. it's the same with music-cd's and their copy protection. if you're able to copy it without "going round" the protection (which in case is only be possible when the copy program removes or alters it), then it is legal to make a "backup" for personal use, otherwise not. and i think that this not only law in europe but in the states too. i know, that this is bs, but that's the law.
correct me, if i'm wrong regarding the law at us or canada.

you may be technically correct, however I don't think it would hold up at the supreme court. I guess I was stating my opinion on the matter rather than quoting law. Reminds me of a song I love so well.
Mr. Lincoln I wish you were here
The Republics changed alot in a hundred years
I don't think its working like you planned
Mr Lincoln we sure could use a hand
I just read the headlines in the Nashville News
And I wish i made this up but im afraid its true
Cause a man was murdered for his money in the street
He was takin his wife to a nice place to eat
When they caught the man he did 23 months of time
He plead insanity like they do now all the time
Sir what would you have done in 1859
Now if you shoot someone sir you can get off scott free
Its the latest thing mr Lincoln can you believe
Now they sue the manufactures of the guns
Aint the law changed alot since 1861
(Chorus)
I just heard the new story on the radio
They let dangerous men outta prison now yes sir im afraid its so
Because theyre overcrowded and it was only his fifth offense
And this time hes killed someone does that make any sense
Now my lawyer called me about a nuisance case
Cause everybody sues over any little thing these days
Well at least we're right all we gotta do is tell the truth
He said youre living in the past you romantic fool
I said you got that right i lean toward the older ways
And theres damn few back woods lawyers left today
