Make sure to bring lots of med packs, our 64 player beach server is intense!

here is my opinion on this, keep in mind that I have not read all of this thread. I agree with either limiting the amount of Lts or the amount of strikes that can be thrown. I understand that there are players who are very good at being lts. But the truth of the matter is that when a team has 20 or more guys on it, and about half of them are Lts...skill isnt even an issue anymore. Strategy isnt needed anymore when there are more then ten guys launching strikes all over the trenches.

I propose limiting the number of Lts on a team to 10. That still gives you enough Lts to distribute ammo, and also allows for a sufficient team of Lts to strategically throw airstrikes.

thats my two cents anyways.

Limiting Lts. would be a good thing. But if you did. Then you would have to lower the reload time. Fewer Lts means fewer ammo. And with upwards to 30 people on your team all screaming for ammo its hard to get it to all of them. And the worst thing for me is having a med in my face screaming for ammo and Im recharging. I usually get shot in the face for that. LOL. So its win some lose some in this argument. Zog Im sure youll be ok either way :D . Peace to the fam

Yea bring back the poison, Ill give the lt up just for that, I About pissed myself when I was a med...:) Thats a good compermise Ill go for that....

Well, seems like the admin's taking to this suggestion... I take it the hand-thrown airstrike now takes 1 full charge bar? Strangely enough, I was able to give 2 ammo packs and still throw airstrike when I was on allies side though... So different rules for allies and axis? More interesting so how fast this change came about, thought it'd be some major code rework...!

Actually I havent changed anything yet :lol: So anything your seeing must be the result of a few too many :beer:

Anyway....I like the civilized debate going on here, real nice guys, gave me lots of good ideas :D The easiest route might be simply to up the amount of charge it takes to throw a strike from 50% to say 75%.

Right now the Lt. chargetime is set to 60 seconds, so currently its 30 seconds per strike, at 75% it would be 45 seconds per strike.

Do you think that an extra 15 seconds would really make a difference?

According to the stats, the airstrike is #2 killer on the server, below the Thompson by about 2,000 kills. Whatever {TBAR}ANIMALMOTHER is doing must be effective though, hes got 1800+ kills with the airstrike, nearly double the second place person.

I honestly think no. It wouldnt. Something else would happen. There would be more flamers. There would be more door blockers. Its always something. I hate it. But I learn to deal. I want to bitch and moan but it never makes a difference. Sometimes I honestly consider changing to Axis. And then I saw this guy egging Allies on. Sayin stuff like "Cant even get to the warroom" and I speced this kid Camping in the WR with a flamethrower. Shit like that gets me down. He was real lucky FF is off. Cause I would of gibbed that kid so hard. So leave the Lts how it is. Maybe limit it to 35 or 50% of the team would help. LOL. A lower percentage would be good also. Hehe. PEACE YALL!

How could there be more flamers? There is a limit on flamers and panzers, so I think it would help out a lot by changing it from 50% to 75%, but I still think that there will be a lot of support fires thrown anyway, I think Axis will just throw them in more "strategic" locations from now on.

I think it would be a great thing to make these people think about strategy for once. Maybe a trial is needed to see what works best. From what I can see all of what has been proposed is a good idea. Here's what has been proposed so far:

1. limit the # of lts. per team (number or %)
2. Make their bar recharge slower.
3. Make it so they need more in their bar (65%-80% rather than the standard 50%)

Now I bring a new sugestion to the table. Since most of the lts spawn then immediately toss a strike maybe they can start with an empty bar. these means they have to stay alive long enough to (now 30 sec.) to toss one. This equalizes things in that now the allies have to wait to throw a clean strike too, making things more fair.

i just started seeing that tbar chap on the server recently....maybe a week or two ago. can you tell when he started on the server?...if its as long as i think 1800+ kills w/strikes is bad. and i dont mean michael jackson "Bad".

i think playing with the recharge time is bad, itll leave the rest of the team without ammo longer. i think anything short of limiting the number of lts is not a good idea...but i seem to be in the minority. youd still have strike crazed lts. but i think it would seriously cut back on the strikes.

you ever think about giving the meds 30/60 in their piece to start?

The whole idea of LT limiting is to force some of the weenie's into playing more of a team game. If these boobs still throw air-strikes willie-nillie then their team-mates will go without ammo, end of story.

Up the recharge rate and the smart LTs will have to actually think about throwing an air strike (God forbid!). The lame ass Air-Strike Queens will continue to heave away and then stand around uselessly for another two minutes while their ammo deprives mates start waving knives at the onrushing enemy.

Why did we limit panzers and flamers? The same reason, I think, that we should limit LTs.

If one class can kill more than one enemy with a single trigger-twitch, then that class is subject to limiting in some way.

On the point Raven makes, an empty bar is a little extreme... it renders the lieut useless when he spawns and one thing I do do when I spawn (as allies) is dish out 2 ammo packs and then check whether an airstrike is required before dishing out more... now, if you were to start them off with less than half the recharge bar though you'd effectively force them to give ammo to team mates instead running away like madmen... hehe

As for Mmgood's comment, no I didn't have too much :beer: ; more like playing from 2300 hours till 0330/0500 every night for the past month or so has rendered my brains to mash... :blow: :lol:

I'm ok to changing it such that it requires the whole bar to throw an airstrike... ok, sorta renders the "throwing airstrike" thing useless since you might as well use binocs but anything to give allies a chance!

How hard would these mods be anyway...?

Again Zog speaks with great clarity and conviction. I've found myself wandering to other servers for the same reasons. Maybe giving meds more ammo is too much, they're already pretty good. We need more admin commentary on this if anything is going to happen. MMmmGood, Motha, Edogg... or anyone with server experience, what can be done realistically with lts. We've all seen the sugestions by now, so what's next?

I THINK THAT IF UPPING THE % RATIO WOULD HELP A BIT BUT YOU WOULD STILL BE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH AMMO DISTRIBUTION. EITHER WAY WHEN ONE DOOR CLOSES ANOTHER OPENS. HEY ZOG ON THE MEDIC RUNNING AROUND WITH HIS KNIFE ......THAT WAS ME YESTERDAY PAPPA WITH ABOUT 6 FREAKING AXIS GUYS ON MY ASS.LOL.LOL. AND "N" SORRY ABOUT THE X'S PAPPA, I LIKED THE IDEA OF MEDS STARTING OFF WITH 30/60 IN THERE CHAMBERS GOOD CALL PAPPA.
