The Arctic monkeys

Postby Alofwar » Wed Jan 25, 2006 11:04 am

The Arctic monkeys are a band who taken the UK by storm out of nowhere. They play rock music that is unbelievabley good. They are so unique, you can't compare them to anyone. They hit it big with "I bet that you look good on the dance floor" which got a place in the top 10 some months ago and its still there, and now they have released "When the sun goes down" which has gone straight to number 1. And their album "Whatever people say i am, thats what i'm not" is so brilliant. I command you to buy it, even if its not available in the states, order it from the UK or online (its worth extra shipping cost) YOU MUST BUY THIS ALBUM!!!!

They're all great, a certain romance is ok, not great, but 12 out 13 songs being great is bloody great. "Red light indcates doors aer secure" is one of my favourites.

I would say they have become one of the best bands here in just a few months. Whitesox if you don't like them, i would have to say your nuts but its up to you. Have you heard the Kaiser chiefs? Hard Fi? Franz Ferdinand? These are some of my favourite bands, do you like them whitesox?

Futureheads are ace, Maximo Park very good too if you like Northan angular rock type stuff, British Sea Power are great, Bloc Party, Editors, The Go! Team, Art Brut, The Rakes, Brakes, kaiser chiefs and Franz are probably my favourite English (current) bands.

there are a lot of links here.. thanks guys! It may take me a while to properly listen and comment on. So far I like the Artic Monkeys, especially the song "When the sun goes down".
I like Two Gallants also. Great stuff. It reminds me sort of like Damien Rice. Anyone heard of/ like that artist? I saw them in concert and have one of the cd's.
I will listen to the rest soon.
